Jin-Soo Kwon
Jin-Soo Kwon (Revised Romanization of Korean (RR): Gwon Jin-su, McCune-Reischauer (MR): Kwo(n Chin-su) is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Jin was born into a poor upbringing with his fisherman father which he has always been ashamed of. After meeting and in order to marry Sun, the love of his life, he was forced into working into his father-in-law's mafia-type business in which he takes part in horrid tasks. This has made him almost scared of what he is capable of. Due to this, he was over-controlling of Sun in their late-marriage stage. Jin is the only survivor to not speak the native language within the group - English. This has caused a constant language barrier but after Sun revealed she spoke English to the group, this helped him overcome this struggle and has managed to pick up disconnected words and phrases.

Locke and the sorry chicken (rip)
Something that might be of relevance, when some of the chicken references
in this episode are concerned. I wrote on another thread ( Ben's refrigerator) about an earlier chicken reference from Season 3 where Locke checks Ben's fridge and accuses him of cheating and missing the island spirit. To Locke's surprise, he found Ben living like he lives, using electricity and eating chicken cooked in a fully furnished kitchen..
In Eggtown, it seemed rather curious that Locke came to mention killing a chicken twice; first to Ben and later, when answering Kate's question about the blood on his hands. In both cases he looked cheerful and refreshed, though not without some signs of anxiety.
In Ancient Greek culture, Asclepius was believed to be the demigod of health and medicine with powers to heal and mend, and the traditional sacrifice to him when one asks for recovery, was often a rooster sacrifice. Socrates' Apology includes the most famous reference to this: After his trial, Socrates says that he owes Asclepius a rooster, implying that he's content with taking his death-penalty as a cure to his dreadful situation (being judged by the ignorant, false accusations etc).
Now, I don't think Locke's looking for a "similar cure" I rather take his chicken killing as a sign of his will to move on and re-collect his strength, recuperate and recover from both the gun-shot wound, and from his recent state of confusion. Locke's also planning to invite everyone for dinner [where there'll be some poultry course I'm assuming ], so I'm thinking he's gradually gaining some clarity and planning a move.
I am not sure if Kate holds any sacrifical value to Locke, but his banishing of Kate could be interpreted respectively as well.

I thought Kate's statement "You've got blood" was strange. Most people would have finished that sentence with "...on your hands." Which might be exactly what John is going to end up with - someone's blood on his hands (well, I guess he already has Boone's blood on his hands), but maybe he is going to do something severe...
Then John's statement of "I just killed a chicken" was interesting to me, too.In slang terms a chicken is a coward. Desmond was a coward in the army and is looking for his honor; John was a coward (?) and had to get Sawyer to kill his dad, Anthony Cooper - so I just started wondering if that statement was about doing something to someone else or himself and not just a bird!

Ugh! Thank You Pchee - I knew there was someone else Locke had killed but for the life of me could not remember who it was!

That's a good one. I'm still on the Locke is weak tip.
