Basiclly that means the other 2 died and the reason it was in his story was for realism purpose.

The way he was telling it clearly meant they died quite early in the story. AKA died soon after the crash. Because he said "She tried to save them" that was during her hero period which was immediantly after the crash.

Therefore the other 2 oceanic are worthless. But the interesting part would be who he choice as the other 2.

Of course I could be wrong. But I'm probably not.

B)Even if you didn't catch it the first time, like queenbeesteph said, there are already two other threads about this topic.

I did too. But those other topics are full of people fresh and ready too believe that Oceanic 8 story matters. While this thread is telling you flat out that it doesn't.

So why are people discussing how it matters in this thread? I have no clue...

It wouldn't be a discussion in the first place, if the thread was to be populated with posts all following the same line of thought.

And if people are discussing whether or not Oceanic 6/8 matters here, then the logic to opening a different thread for what could be part of an already existing thread defies itself pretty much.

The oceanic 8 is a total irrelevance, will everyone stop speculating about who and why.

It really doesn't matter who Jack imagines they were, he could have been thinking of the guy who got sucked into the jet in epi 1, who cares???

now lets leave this thread alone and concentrate on more important issues. We havent even worked out the time differences yet.

I agree that the Oceanic 6 is a cover story, but I think that the 6 have to be people who were listed on the manifest. All of their names would have been released on a news special or a website or something... I think that the names on the manifest would have been made public at some point so the 6 have to be on the manifest...

I also agree that the 6 will all be peeps from Flight 815 and would have been on the manifest which would not include Aaron since he was not listed, I don't know that they would have known by the manifest that Claire was pregnant on the plane..

I'm not sure is Claire would have been listed as preg. on the manifest either...but Aaron for sure didn't purchase a ticket...

If Aaron managed to buy a ticket I think he is more special than any of us could have realized... LOL!!
