next time, on Lost

In the previews for next week, was Des flying the helicopter?!?

Was that not Desmond (with short hair) grabbing Faraday by the collar and yelling at him? Desmond had a physicist friend, (from the episode when he returned to his old life) maybe he somehow knew Faraday.

I only saw the preview once so forgive me if I am wrong...

I did think it was Des flying the helicopter. What happened to the pilot? And does Des knowing how to fly it have anything to do with his military service?

It looked like he was wearing the headphones, was Sayid wearing them too? Sometimes (in movies) all the people in helicopters wear headphones... But what happened to Frank?

I didn't see if Sayid was wearing them too, but maybe Frank decided not to take them to the boat, and Sayid just knocked him out and Des stepped in. Maybe that's why Des was screaming get off of me. Frank tried to retaliate...

My take on what we saw:

Frank was piloting them into the storm (Desmond was arguing) in order to keep the same bearing they entered on (Faraday's warning)

What if they passed through that 'event horizon' and Frank and Naomi 'disappeared' as they escaped island time (since they were arriving at a point where they already existed.) And what if they ended up at the frieghter at a time before the people on the freighter even left for the island? Did anyone notice Desmond freaking out at Faraday? They were both on the freighter and Desmond was demanding to know what was going on.

And if this is all true...what if Ben's 'man on the boat' is actually Sayid?!?!
We all know Sayid ends up working with Ben at some point.

I thought he looked like he had short hair, too. Like in the flashback in the episode "Flashes Before Your Eyes." (I should really defer to our resident Desmond expert - Tessa A. - for the difinitive answer!

This is excellent thinking, DaCamel! Wow! YOU really have a good grasp of what is going on in the show. This is a salient point and a could be a sneak peek into what is really happening concerning time.

I'm pretty sure it was Desmond. Will be cool to see him be the hero.

That's a good point Hatch123 - the whole reason Desmond went on the race around the world was so that he could get his honour back and finally be able to marry Penny.
