So why was it called Eggtown?

Anyone figure this out?

Is it something simple?

Was it referring to the barracks and Locke's regime?

eggtown...maybe because everyone's walking on eggshells around locke.

Was there significance in the way Locke smelled the eggs and then served them to Ben?

maybe because john cooked the last 2 eggs for ben, then said he killed the chicken.

My theory had to do with Woman and Babies.

I thought it was just because of the eggs at the beginning, and the fact that they were in a little town.

I was interested in the title, so I did a bit of research, I've just found this on the net :

Egg-town is a term that refers to the days of bartering, during the Great Depression. A traveling salesman would have to barter his candy or tobacco or shoelaces for different commodities. A poor exchange would be for eggs, a relatively common item that is also highly perishable. Nobody wants to trade for eggs from a traveling salesman because they have their own, so the salesman who accepted an egg in exchange was forced to accept a bad deal. .

The term "egg-town" represents a deal with undesirable outcomes in either case.

seems relateable (sp?) as no one really got good news out of any of their deals/bartering.

miles made a deal and ended up with a granade in his mouth

and i think it alludes also to whatever deals may be coming up as well.
