Nikki Fernandez

Nikki Fernandez was one of the middle section survivors from Flight 815 and is first introduced in "Further Instructions". She had spent most of her time on the island trying to recover the $8 million diamonds she and Paulo had stolen from Zukerman, her staged lover, before the crash. She received a Medusa spider bite that induced a deathlike paralysis and she died after being buried alive alongside Paulo.

In Season 3, Ben mentions a "device" in Claire. This was in the "One of Us" episode, where Juliet infiltrates the survivors camp. This device, when set off, caused Claire's immune system to shut down and the medicine Juliet gave her saved her. What if, upon Freighter rescue, whatever circumstances that may come by, Ben decides to activate this device causing Claire's death, in an attempt to try and get "Mr. Fix" Jack to try and save her and stay on the island. I think this "device" will be a key part in learning what ends up of Claire.
