8 survivors, but only six of the island? - Page 3

It could be that 8 people survived the plane crash (in their made up story) and then 2 of them later died on the island by sickness or accident or of their crash related injuries. That would make their story of survival more believable. I think they are passing Aaron off as Kate's biological child, time difference or not, she's been on the run for years so she could've had a child that the authorities didn't know about...then again you'd think the marshall would've told someone, unless he hadn't contacted anyone about the capture yet. Kate's mom really wanted to see her grandchild, not sure she'd be so determined if she knew he wasn't her biological grandchild? Especially since she's been so cold to Kate. The idea of Michael and Walt being the other 2 makes sense also. Except would Jack include that in his story? Why wouldn't Michael and Walt be part of the group then and be the Oceanic Eight?

I think Kate managed to get away with passing of Aaron as her own due to the time difference on the Island, whilst time was looping, noone on the island aged, whilst the outside world carried on as normal. So Kate would easily be able to pass off Aaron as her own child, conceived and born on the Island. I'll bet at some point, someone from Hanso will, question how Kate managed to do this, as we all know you cannot conceive and give birth if it happens on the Island. That's also why we know that sun's baby is not Jin's, big clue in this epi.

Did anyone else notice in Jack's testimony that he made their survival seem like the 8 were the tailies. Jack stated they landed in the water and Kate got everyone to shore and performed first aid. Funny, that sounds exactly like Ana Lucia.

Overall though, the timing of the episode doesn't make sense unless they are on the island for at least 3 more years that we see, which i guess is the case. Aaron looked about 3 or 4 years old, Kate's mom said she waited through her terminal cancer for 4 years, being told she has 6 mos the whole time, or something to that effect. I guess this is how Walt will be explained, he will be one of the 'six' and he will be substantially older. It seems almost certain Michael is in the casket as well.

It could be that Claire decided in front of witnesses and even wrote up something in her journal that if anything were to happen to her on the island and she was unable to care for Aaron that she wanted Kate to take care of him.. That could be why once they were off the island she was able to keep him.. It was at his mothers wishes...

I do not get why people are saying that Jack's testimony was ALL lies. Like yes all the stuff about Kate being a hero was, but why would he say 8 survived and only six made it off the island. Wouldn't that only complicate their situation, and raise suspicion about the island. It just wouldn't make sense for him to say that.

In my theory i think 15 people get off the island.... wait 16..or 23..or...42

This may be meaningless giving all the twists and turns in this episode, but Jack would not have been on the stand before the procecutor was to question Kate's mom. In real life trials the procector/plaintiff present their case first, then the defense presents their case. I suppose the writers/producers did it this way in order to get Jack on the stand. If the procecuter had gone first (as in the real world), no mom, case over--no Jack on the stand.
