Dr. Juliet Burke
Dr. Juliet Burke (née Carlson) is a member of the Others. She seems unhappy with her allegiance (particularly, it seems, with Ben's position of authority), and lives at the Barracks. Juliet is a calm, intelligent woman with a background in medicine, but unhappy with her private life and will do anything to get off the Island. However, it seems Juliet has betrayed her people and joined the survivors in wanting off the island.

Yep, that's right PotPie! In my zeal to point out the nod from Lost to the physicist I mis-typed the actual physicist's name. But the character in the show (Daniel) is obviously an allusion to the physicist (Michael) - Daniel mentions some of the things Michael studied. (this is just like the nod to Clive Staples Lewis a.k.a. C.S. Lewis by naming a character Charlotte Staples Lewis) I've also read somewhere that Miles Straum is a sort of homophone of the word maelstrom which is a very powerful whirlpool; a large, swirling body of water ( which could be a reference or clue for those who believe in the "Vile Vortices" theory of Lost).

PotPie! We totally got scolded by LostWithBen, didn't we!
Well, hello, hello, hello.......... Eddy Miles Straum *giggle* that's a good one.
It would make sense if his name was Eddy, he would fit right in on the show:
Edward Mars, character
Eddie (security guard), Anthony Cooper's gate attendant
Edward F. "Eddie" Colburn, a police officer who appears in "Further Instructions"
Edmund Burke, Juliet's ex-husband
