Charlie Hieronymus Pace

Charlie Hieronymus Pace was a survivor from the middle section of Oceanic 815. Before the crash, Charlie was the bassist and main songwriter for the rock band Driveshaft. When Flight 815 crashed, Charlie was snorting heroin in one of the plane's bathrooms. Charlie's drug addiction and crippling self-doubt were the biggest obstacles in his life. Like many of the Losties, the crash provided Charlie with a fresh start. On the Island, Charlie formed a relationship with Claire Littleton and her son Aaron.

After avoiding deaths foreseen by Desmond several times, Charlie finally died willingly to save the other survivors. He drowned on day 93, and his death is yet unknown to anyone except Desmond.

The amateurs you speak of are just the ones that are needed to get the door open. This will allow the real warriors who are waiting to come in behind them.
I do not even think Daniel, Charlotte, etc know exactly why they are there. They are scientists that are captivated by the possibilities presented by the island. They are being paid to help someone else find a way to get there to gain control. They probably do not know what it is they are involved in.....they are pawns.

Okay I've seen it twice now. I think these 4 people are pawns, or guinea pigs. "let's send them to the island and see what happens" also because they don't come across very threatening. I think it was a little dumb of Ben to use the ex military bad ass and now famous, Sayid Jarrah, as his 'secret assassin' No wonder the 'economist' and Elsa were onto him. Mr. Avelene or whatever (the golfer) was immediately nervous when Sayid introduced himself because he was thinking 'what are the odds?' obviously that guy is connected to this and so Sayid and him meeting on a golf course in the Seychelles is a little too coincidental, he knew what was coming...but still managed to make a good shot with his 5 iron!

Does anyone think that maybe it is not just Sayid's friends that he is trying to protect? Do you think maybe Ben/ or these people they are after have Nadia? We know she is alive. I always assumed the first thing he would do is try to find her.

Yeah, now that Sayid doesn't have to broker any kind of catfight between Nadia and Shannon. Poor Shannon. I guess at least now Sayid doesn't have to choose and Shannon wouldn't have to worry about him leaving her, as she says everyone eventually does.

I thought Avelene (or whatever, I couldn't hear it) was there to kill Sayid but Sayid killed him first. I thought the panic in Avelene's eyes when Sayid said he was one of the Oceanic 6 was Avelene thinking "Crap, he tricked me first, now I'm done for!"

You may have a point. Naiomi did complain to Abbadon that athe team was so inexperienced she couldn't guarantee she could keep them alive. (Ironic in the end, yeah?)

What do you mean "the men who were responsible for the crash"? Desmond was responsible for the crash. Do you mean the men who were responsible for the coverup? Maybe I missed something...

I think that Ben is tracking down these men who were responsible for the crash, because these people want Ben dead. And now that he is off the island he might not be able to return and will take care of his business here.

He has clearly gaven up on Nadia. Thats why he couldn't kill that girl that he loved. If he loves her that means he doesn't love Nadia. So she may be dead?

If you're talking about Elsa, he did kill Elsa. I'm a bit perplexed by your assumption about how love works. A person can have a lot of loves in one lifetime. It's not like each new one means the older relationships suddenly become insignificant in that person's life. Give the show some credit. It's layered like that. (Kate still cried over the death of her high school sweetheart years later.) And anyway, most Lost characters are too conflicted, untrusting, and self-destructive to NOT be in love with more than one person at a time.

Just because he warned Elsa doesn't mean he loves her. He can care about a person and not want them to have harm come to them and still love Nadia. I didn't think he was supposed to kill her, he was probably planning on following her to 'the economist' or getting the info from her as to his whereabouts. He only killed her because he had to.
