So then how would interpret Ben (as the security guard wanding people) in the dream? Is he the only one in the dream that is NOT a Lostie?

I think that Ben would be the one who decides that the Oceanic 6 are allowed to leave.. Espically after the Econimst, where Sayid is working for Ben, Sayid is upset at the end about killing Elsa.. Then he said something about another person on the list. Then he asks does he want to protect his friends.. So I think it is more showing he is in control.. Security Gaurds are ment to keep the place safe so is Ben

I read that.. I think that is exactly what Ben is talking about when he say's that!

I am gonna try and rewatch it again tonight too!

Wednighter, upon rewatch I noticed a bunch of stuff:

First - almost everything is in groups of three
* Charlie, Claire, & Aaron
* Sayid, Jin, & Sun
* Desmond is walking with three flight attendants
* Jack, Kate, & Sawyer are waiting in the security line
* John's wheelchair stops in front of a group of three ascending escalators.

-Only Hurley and Ben seem to not be in a group.
- We do not see Rose, Michael, Walt, Shannon, Nikki, Paulo, or Dr. Artz (from the front of the plane)
- The only person from the back of the plane is Eko, and we only see his stick.

- So John's whole purpose for making the sweat lodge is that he needs to talk to the island. Then when Boone (the island?) first appears to Locke Boone says something strange - "I'm here to help you find your way again. So you can bring the family back together." What does it mean to bring THE FAMILY back together?

- At first Boone (the island?) tells John - "John, someone in this airport is in serious danger. You are the only one who can save them." He's there to see whom he is to save. Then toward the end of the vision, around the escalator, Boone tells John "First you have to clean up your own mess." And Boone tells Locke that again when Locke is by Eko's bloody stick. Then after that Boone tells John "They've got him. You don't have much time." And when John emerges from the sweat lodge he tells Charlie "I'm going to save Mr. Eko's life." If Boone/the island just wanted John to go and save Eko's life, why did Boone/the island show us all that other stuff? And how is saving Eko's life (which Locke did not do?) going to bring the family back together? Who is the family?

Oh, and a few little sidenote curiosities:
*One person from the groups of three has died (Charlie from that group, Jin from his group) except for the Jack, Kate, and Sawyer group.
*Claire seems to be wearing an engagement or wedding ring.
*What is the deal with the red bag that Jin and Sun seem to be waving around in each other's faces?
* Sawyer seems to be holding one of the Other's walkie-talkies. Also we see a brochure with a picture of the golden gate bridge upside-down - similar to the Lost logo this season with the upside down skyline (I know one is San Fransico and one is Los Angeles).

Great Job Queenbeesteph, I rewatched it last night as well, unfortuanatly I did leave my notes at home but The first thing that suck out to me as well is the comment Boone made to Locke about "Bringing the Family Back together" What family exactly is the question.. The FB durning this episode is about the commune but I don't think that is what he is talking about either.. It could be that John is supposed to bring all the Lostie's back? Since this is when Kate, Hurley, Jack and Sawyer get captured?

I also noticed how Hurly, Ben & Desmond are not in groups.. To the best of our knowledge they all live, Unless these three make up a group of 3 like the others.. Then could Desmond be doomed too? Since we have seen both Hurley and Ben off island..

The rest were as you stated above.. I fear even more for Sawyer's Life if someone from each group is going to die..

Could the possible ring that Claire is wearing represent Charlie's Ring he Leaves behind in Greatest Hits? Just an idea..

Another thought I came up with is the fact at this point of the show Ben needs Jack, and we see Ben scanning or waving the metal dector over Jack..

Kate and Sawyer end up very close durning this time too and we see them together with playful banter is what it seemed..

I think it is also important that LOCKE still needed someone to guide him.. Someone to tell him what to do next.. Seems to be something Locke regularly needs.. Before he lost faith in the hatch, he was knew what he needed to do.. Now since then it seems that he needs someone to tell him what to do..

I looked really close at Claire's ring and it looks like an engagement ring or a single stone ring to me. I looked really closely at Charlie's rings because I specifically wanted to see if I could see the DS ring and I never saw it on his fingers. There are other prominent rings, but that one is conspicuously absent. It also looks like Charlie is wearing some kind of tuxedo shirt with the ruffles, but Claire has on dark blue or black, not white.

I did think that Desmond was with a group of three - he was with a group of three stewardesses, on the escalator when Boone says to John, "He's helping himself." Then at the bottom of the escalator Desmond walks away, arm-in-arm with one of the flight attendants.

I agree, since we have NOT seen Sawyer in ANY flash forwards that makes me nervous for him!

Right about Ben being the security guard with the wand and he is checking Jack. Security Guard Ben determines who gets on the plane and who doesn't. Likewise I suppose, Ben determines who gets on and off the island?

Speaking of this scene--> some of the notes I made about it were first, we learn that the watch that Jack is wearing is the one Christian gave to him right before Jack's wedding (and it was kind of a terrible story, wasn't it?). Then I thought about the symbolism of a watch, the marking of time, and the fact that he is about to be allowed into somewhere, checked by Ben, and took off his watch, meaning that around Ben time has stopped? Time does not pass on the island? What do you think Wednighter?

I didn't notice Claire's ring in the episode when I rewatched it (can ya believe that) and ya can't see her and in the screen cap. I did notice that you could not see Charlie's DS ring.. Hmmm forshadowing??

I noticed that but, he would be the 4th in that group.. There are 3 people who don't have a group, Ben, Hurley, Desmond.. There are all groups of 3 when ya look at it this way, which kinda fits what we were saying about groups of 3... Makes me wonder if Hurley, Ben and Desmond play some big roll later somehow..

Well yes I would agree about the story behind the watch it was kinda bad.. I like the symbolism. That once Jack is coming upon the walk through metal detector (the time portal) and then once through he checked out by Ben... There time stops... Hmmm I like

Here's a screencap of Claire's ring and then one of Charlie's ring. The one with Charlie is the best I could get - the only ring I couldn't get a clear pic of is the one you can see half of right behind Aaron's arm.

I find all the watches interesting in the show and have noticed that since the beginning (because ever since I read "The Sound and The Fury" in highschool in the part about Quinton killing himself there is a quote about time still ticking on a dead man's wrist... I have always kept that with me, don't ask me why). There was the fact that Jin was taking a watch to Los Angeles (but weird that he was wearing it and it wasn't in a box or something). John had a watch and was still keeping track of time even on the island. We never saw the watch that Jack got. Who else wears a watch on the show, of course now that I am posting this I can't remember! *laugh*

Thank You!! Definatly looks like an engagement ring! and still no DS ring..But we do know in from the screen caps that they are both wearing rings on the ring finger of the left hand..
