How did Ben get someone on the boat?

I know Ben hides a lot of things in that huge head of his, but how did he know there was going to be a boat coming for him?

Ben never ceases to impress, he is so crafty. I laughed when he said that 'I have a man on their boat' Brilliant! I'd say it is someone he imbedded there a long time ago. He knew everything about that chick. So he must know all about this organization, hanso or dharma or whoever it is, 'the bad guys' as he called them. But since we can't believe anything he says...do we still believe they are bad? Or was he just saying that because he personally didn't want them there since they are after him? Miles is a jerk but the other 3 seem pretty nice to me. Obviously they've been caught lying but they don't seem too threatening. More like over eager and inexperienced. So maybe that is why they were chosen by Abbadon to be the first team in. Maybe the people still on the boat are really bad... so many possibilities. I want to know how he's been communicating with his inside man.

I'd say it's kind of the same as when the the losties found out about the others. The losties have the recovery crew at a disadvantage. I found that one scene where Jack says "we've got people aiming guns at you" or something to that effect, I found it comparable to the scene where Mr. Friendly exchanged Kate for the losties guns. So, yes I think the crew from the boat is suspicious of everyone on the islands agenda. But they were thrown into a dangerous situation, one where the head of their team had already been killed suspiciously.

Ben doesn't lie... he just manipulates situations, and to the ultimate extreme. He is the real leader, and he is the one with every card and outsmarting entire organizations in the meantime.... we can see this just by his actions.

Think about it... as a boy he got a code to a comlete perimter security fence, no small feat I imagine.. but then is just a workman like his drunk and lazy father... why, how? Well, he took a small role to have free time to study what Dharma was, how it functioned, it's complete inner workings, and then when he is 'ready', allies with the 'Hostiles' and does a takeover of Dharma. He leaves the SWAN intact so food drops can continue and not alert the outside world of his takeover. Keeps Mikhail in the Flame to keep up appearances with communications to the outside world.

He manipulated the situation with Jack to remove his tumor.
He manipulted Michael to free him and then shoot a Dharma insider..
He may be manipulating Locke every step of the way because Locke eventually does everything Ben needs, blowing up the sub, killing Naomi and now gathering people (including Aaron) to not leave the island. ben may have had Locke get stuck in teh Swan just so he could let the timer go long so a pallet drop happens.

Ben is the key here.. according Lockes vision.. if Hurley is the key to getting off the island, then Ben is the screener who will decide if you are getting through the gate.
