Daniel crying

Was is explained why Daniel was crying while watching the discovery of the Oceanic Plane wreckage? I didn't pick up his direct connection to the Losties. Miles connected with what seemed to be Eko's ghost and the "girl" found the Polar Bear's Dharma collar. The Jeff Fahey character was suppose to be the pilot.

It didn't say, no. But when that woman asked him why he was so upset he said "I don't know", so that's a bit odd...

I think I know why... Flash Forward... I'll post my reasons in another thread.

Eko's ghost? When? He wasn't the grandson in the pictures. Couldn't have been. This was one of the more confusing episodes ever, I've only watched it once but there are just so many little bits of info here and there that I can't even begin to connect the dots. I need to watch it again.

That was not Eko!!!

Daniel crying reminded me a little of how Desmond felt when he appeared to go back in time after the hatch implosion. He was reliving a portion of his life, he was confused as to what was or wasn't reality and it was emotional. It seemed as though the crash site was an emotional trigger for something buried in Daniel's memory. Something he suppressed or was erased by another party....?

I do not believe the boy in the picture is Eko. He seems to be in the same age range and that is about it. I looked at closeups of both pics this morning. Eko's bone structure is larger and the faces are different. However, if you were not close up it might be easy to mistake one for the other.

The way the woman talked to Daniel almost seemed like she was talking to someone who was mental. Like her tone of voice. I wonder who she was and why they didn't show her face. or did they?

well , i think dan was crying because he was supposed to be on that plane , or maybe he knew some one on the plane , thanks

when naomi was talking through the team with the scary man and saying why they weren't suitable didn't she call daniel a head case or something like that. he does seem a bit ermmmm kooky!

he reminds me of charlie. at one point when he said a word i wasnt looking and i thought it was charlie speaking. im not saying hes connected to him or anything, just thought id share

I think Dan gets his share from common stereotypes about scientists or researchers studying issues that the majority don't get. He might be hired for this "Operation: Benjamin Linus" because of having some unconventional theories on EM fields or other physic-related issues that might be of help for the mission.
