Dr. Jack Shephard

Dr. Jack Shephard is often seen as the main character of the series. He is a spinal surgeon and the de facto leader of the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Jack has control issues and trouble dealing with situations that he cannot fix. However, this attitude of solving problems through reason has given him the ability to function well in crisis. Sometimes, if he feels guilt or pain over a situation he can't fix himself, he will do anything he can to fix it, even borderlining on obsessive. Jack is, most of the time, in control of his life, emotions and situation he is in and is able to keep a cool head in tense situations. Jack is also the half brother of Claire Littleton, although neither of them is aware of this. Jack has formed very strong bonds with Kate and Juliet while he has been on the Island.

I thought the guy was totally creepy!! Reading up on him I have found out some interesting things.

Abaddon is very close to the word Abandon.

In Hebrew Abaddon means "destruction". In Job 26:6; Proverbs 15:11 it means "place of destruction", or "realm of the dead". In Revelation 9:11, it is personified as Abaddon, "Angel of the Abyss".

He poses the question "Are they still alive?" Is he speaking of the other Oceanic survivors, or Dharma, or possibly the people with Naomi? Obviously he does not have access to the island or any knowledge as to what is going on there. Maybe he is from the Hanso foundation..........

His eyes just about killed me. So utterly freaky!

I was reading the same thing Frogmeister. Here is what lostpedia.net has to say:

I'm thinking that when he questions if "they were still alive" he meant the Oceanic 6, or those still on the island?

He is spine-chilling! In another thread, someone pointed out (maybe pippinsown?) that the print on his tie looked very much like little darhma logos. El Diablo should always carry business cards - don't you think! lol
