Michael Dawson

Michael Dawson is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. He had parental issues with his son, Walt, but the two have bonded with their time on the island. Michael shot dead Ana-Lucia and Libby in order to release Ben from captivity; and ultimately caused the capture of Jack, Sawyer and Kate, when he made a deal with the Others. His whereabouts are currently unknown after he left the Island with his son Walt on a motor boat.

The island gives you the chance to be what you never were before. Hurley will be big this season I.M.H.O.
I couldn't agree more Dragonlady! We know Ben took Locke to the cabin as a test to see if John was special - and John turned out to be special by being able to see and hear Jacob. This caused Ben to shoot Locke (weird how now Ben wanted to go with Locke - they must have hugged it out!) We now know that Hurley is "special" too since he has also seen and heard Jacob. What will Ben do to Hurley? Interesting that the 3 "special" guys are all together in the non-rescue group. Hurley has more to him than we have been shown as of yet - I think his story is going to be important this season since he went with Locke but got off the island somehow? and apologized to Jack for not have gone with Jack - something big happened.

Hurley is also the only one to know the numbers before coming to the island.. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? Locke sees the island as a beautiful place.. Hurley can't escape his curse on the island..

It's weird that we didn't find out anything in the new episode about how Hurley's Mother and Father are doing. Cheech Marin rules.

I always liked Hurley and thought of him as a carefully crafted character that has a special connection with the island and its events. Having too much personal baggage or too many demons in closet seems to be a strong and recurrent theme among people who interact with the island in significant ways, and an overweight person who turned to food to comfort his load of familial tragedies is a beautiful way of putting the "baggage connection" out there. Note how his attempts to lose weight has been issued in line with his work on personal healing, with help of Libby (rip).

Plus, Hurley saw Jakob..and another person looking through the hole (?).

What's this about Hurley tricking Sawyer at a barbeque? When did this happen?

I think Hurley represents the "caring heart" of the island.

He told Sawyer that people were talking about banishing him and so Sawyer started being super nice to everyone and had a beach barbeque. It was priceless. It was in the episode 'Left Behind'

Oh yeah. He told Claire her baby was less wrinkly than before. I didn't think that Sawyer put on a whole barbeque for them. I musta missed that. Did he kill a boar for everyone? (Hope it wasn't possessed by the soul of Frank Duckett or his father--Doh!)
