Paulo

Paulo was one of the middle section survivors of Flight 815. Before the crash, he and Nikki Fernandez murdered Howard L. Zukerman and stole his diamonds. They spent most of their time on the island searching for these diamonds to the exclusion of almost everything else. A bite from a Medusa spider induced a death-like paralysis in Paulo. He subsequently died as a result of being buried alive while paralized.

maybe charlie is occupying the same space as jacob, he's there, but at the same time, not there...

sorry, i was online while the episode was airing. Who else could see Charlie? Did an attendant tell Hurley he had a visitor? I know Charlie gave Hurley a very tangible slap! That's pretty good for someone being dead and imaginary.

another patient told hurley there was a weird guy staring at him. hurley said, where? and the other patient said, over there and pointed right at charlie.

wait, or did he? maybe he was pointing at someone else, but hurley saw charlie? oh now, i'm losin it...

Crazy dude definitely informed Hugo that someone was looking at him. Next person we see on screen is Charlie. What if Hugo is so crazy that he sees crazy $h!t like Jacob and Charlie, but he somehow (with "you're not real!") he makes it go away. Like reverse hallucinations.

Maybe only tortured souls can see the people which occupy the space which Jacob appeared in, between life and death. I just creeped myself out...

I think only tortured souls can see dead people too. And children. The rest of us are too busy with mundane things like work, paying the bills, etc.
