I agree that Charlie's story is very gripping. Perhaps this is because he at first seems such an ordinary guy, until we find out that he was once a member of a famous band and a hopeless junkie - its surreal that he finds heroin on the Island- it's as though he only has to wish in order to get what he wants. However, the glamour of taking heroine is gone because it does not fit in with his new lifestyle on the Island.
I also love the way the writers intertwine the characters of Desmond and Charlie. The moment when Desmond reveals that Charlie must die is riveting!
