Yeah, there was a turtle. It was probably a green sea turtle (according to my wife who is a sea turtle biologist (really)). They come up on the beach all the time in Hawaii to bask. The crew probably had to stop filming until the turtle was out of the way. You can also see it back in the water when the rubber boat is heading back to the freighter.
