Can he make these visions disappear by not believeing in them? Just something that happened twice in this episode that stood out to me.. Happened on and off island.. Any thoughts?

I am not sure if it is "not believing" , but it does seem to show that Hurley (and possibly anyone) can control the visons to a certain degree. In other words if you don't want to deal with them, you don't have too. I don't know if he can make them stop appearing, but apparently he can make them go away.
