Judged by whom? On what grounds are we to call Libby a good one and Ana Lucia, a bad one? I'm only asking since you're saying it's one theory..
Ana Lucia wasn't one of my favorite characters at all and can't say I felt bad about her death. But I think her flashback story allowed plenty of insight on her psychology- she was a cop, ridden with the guilt that she failed twice (couldn't avoid the murder of her partner & her revenge plot lead to loss of job..lots of disillusionment). Consequently, she was extremely anxious about losing control again on the island where she felt the well-being of tallies depended on her. So she seemed despotic and most aggressive but not because she was some monster.
