I think it's much more likely that Kate's trial was a lot closer to Jack's catching up with Hurley at the Santa Rosa Medical Center than it was to Jack and Kate's meeting at the airport. For one thing Jack is fairly bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at the first two events, but he is bearded and really screwed up in the third. I don't think he would have had time to lose his mind a bit and then clean himself up all before the trial. And what would have helped him clean himself up, anyway? He hadn't returned to the island, so his problem still beats down heavy on his mind.

The point I am trying to make is the big mystery this season is how do all the ff fit in a time line? (i.e. Kate and Jack could have met at the airport before her trial)
