What I have is this:
* The possible date for the purge is 12-21-87
* Hugh McIntyre (on the Jimmy Kimmel show) said that the Hanso Foundation had quit funding the Dharma Initiative in 1987. Some people question if that was really true or not.
* Juliet arrives on the island 9-21-2001
* JUliet talks to Harper for the first time 9-28-2001

So my mystery here is --> Why, if Hanso (who has connections to Widmore) had cut ties with Dharma in 1987, why in 2001 did Harper have a certificate of recognition from Hanso? Especially if Harper has sided with Ben Linus who was responsible for the purge of the Dharma Intiative.
