Remember the scene in the hospital, when Jack was talking with the head off staf, he said that he wasn't so drunk as his father upstairs. It was a flashforward, so Jacks father isn't dead.
What do you think about this?

^^ i thought with all the stress and the possible hallucinations and side effects from the medication, he really didn't know what he was saying. He may just be confusing things in his head or not wanting to accept the truth. He came to terms with his father's death on the island, but now hes back in the real world and can't handle it. But I mean thats just what I thought.

yeah I think Jack was just a little drunk, a lot depressed, and kinda spaced out on the drugs when he told the other doctor to go up stairs and see if his dad was drunker than him (hmm drunker, probably not a word oh well)
The other doc and a nurse gave him a funny look like " what are you talking about Jack, your dad is dead??"
I think Christian Shepard is dead, but just my opinion.

Whenever Jack is in the wrong, he blames someone else.

I think blaming his dad was just habit.

Back when Jack was getting married, his dad said, "You can't let anything go." Jack then used that line in his wedding vows and they cut away to a shot of his dad grimacing. Jack didn't understand what his father was saying.

Jack is unable to to move on and let a situation go.

In that flash-forward, he is really saying that he can't let the situation on the island go. He cannot accept that it's over. He keeps wanting to revisit it, rather that settle down to remaking his life post-rescue.

i think that jack was just stressed out, and the writers got jack to talk about his dad so it would confuse the audience

if you re-watch the finale, jack actually says "up there" and not "upstairs". he never actually says his dad is in the building. so he could have been wasted and rambling, or he could have been referring to heaven/afterlife when he said it.
