Sun-Hwa Kwon

Sun-Hwa Kwon (née Paik ?) (Revised Romanization of Korean (RR): Baek Seon-hwa, McCune-Reischauer (MR): Paek So(n'hwa) is one of the middle section survivors of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. She was traveling on the plane with her husband, Jin-Soo Kwon. Their marriage has been very unstable, on and off the island, mainly due to Jin's controlling and violent nature and also because of Sun's many secrets that she will go to great lengths to protect even if it involves hurting others e.g. the maid in "The Glass Ballerina". She is currently pregnant with Jin's child, and according to Juliet the pregnancy will kill her in two months like every other pregnant woman who conceived on the island.

yeah he said to kate hes sick of lying, in my opinion they are not allowed to tell anyone what happened on the island, thats wot the lie is, what else would there be to lie about??

and furthermore what does that have to do with if jacks dad is alive or not???

i also think that jacks dad being alive in the flash forward could be one of the most important thinkgs the flash forward was telling us, if jacks dad can come back to life then theres something more important than lies going on??

[quote=benmer007;31844]he comes back to a world where his father hadnt die yet.

you just might have something there, what is going to change? If they are living in a time gap on the island, when they get back is it going to be future or past. What if time was running backward on the island? Then maybe jack can save his father. Is there a possibility they could come back from the island and be in a parallel dimension to ours something that is almost like the world they left, but just a little off. i.e. jack's dad has never touched a sip of alchohol.

well we have talked about it in other threads. So we might as well bring this thread up to date too I suppose.
The creators of LOsT have confirmed that parallel universes and alternate futures are NOT a part of the show. There is only one Jack, one Kate, one Christian, one Charlie and so on. When someone dies thats it they are dead.
So the "Jack" that we saw in the flashback where he indentifies his father Christian at the Austrialian morgue is the same "Jack" that we see in the flash forward of the season finale and the same "Jack" we have seen on the island.
So Christian Shepard is dead.

IMHO I think part of the reason they showed the scene where Jack was using his father's prescription pad and said Have my father come down here if he isn't more drunk than me comment was to show how messed up he is after he is off the island.. Jack was all messed up on pills, drinking, and what not whose to say that he isn't suffering something similar to post traumatic stress syndrome.. Suffering from delusions and this is what the writers are trying to get across.. Kate seems to me to think he has gone off his rocker and I don’t think it is the first time Jack has contacted her like this.. What do you all think??

How can you close your mind off to that possibility? The producers themselves on a lost special "lost: the answers" say that quote "they (losties) are actually alive and breathing somewhere in the space time continuum" a statement that has eveything to do with parallel dimensions.

I think one thing that people need to remember is that the producers like to leave themselves loopholes in what they discredit.. I mean at one time they completly discredited time travel then Flashes before your eyes happened.. So I think you have to look at what they are saying word for word and then figure out what loop- hole they may have left for themselves..

Along with post traumatic stress syndrome I'd say he's holding a lot of guilt for something he did. He also appears very needy to kate, which was never the way things were.

right! so whatever has been agreed on in the past on this forum, is always open to speculation.

I am just trying to use the information given by the LOsT creators to narrow the possibilities. That's all. I like to keep an open mind. And I think it is certainly good to talk about events in the show that challenge what the LOsT creators have told us in interviews and podcasts. Its equally important to talk about events in the show that support what they have said in podcasts and interveiws.
Ulitmately, when the LOsT creators tell us that something is or is not a part of show I believe they are telling us the truth. And in their most current podcast they specifically say that there are no parallel universes or alternate futures in the mythology of LOsT.

Here is a little something about space-time from wikipedia:
Quote:
In physics, spacetime is any mathematical model that combines space and time into a single construct called the space-time continuum.
Space-time continuum construct acknowledges the possibility of parallel universes but doesn't automatically assume them.

Thanks for updating me, I never listen to those podcasts. The Lost creators are, in my opinion, always throwing us offtrack about what's really happening . If they want to keep flip-flopping on what they say I suggest that they are not telling the truth all the time. The definition of continuum kind of threw me to believe it had a lot to do with parallel universes, although after further research this is only theoretical on a subatomic level. so my bad.
