best part is that none of it conflicts with what im saying about the fact that this episode took place in the futture and jack was flashing back to the island... not vise versa....

I guess I don't view the flashbacks as what the character is actually thinking at that point in time (with the exception of Charlie's greatest hits) I view the flashbacks as just showing us (the audience) info about a character's past that could relate to what's going on now. Thus, the flash forward is more like a glimpse into Jack's future for us to see; it wasn't something he was thinking about.

not that I don't agree with you, Ben...you could definitely look at it as future-Jack was the main story, and the flashbacks were on the island...I guess I just like the idea of the island always being the main current story, and anything else (back or forward) is just extra info to tell us more about the characters.

Golden [Plane] Ticket reminds me of Willie Wonka's Golden Ticket into a magical world.

I kind of like Benmer's idea, in that I keep looking for a link between the Lost Experience and the show. If bearded-Jack was having a flash back, could that connect the two?

I don't care if she's airbrushed or made up or anything.

The one thing I do know is that Kate would still be wanted by the FBI for the murder of her father. How the heck does she not only get back into the US but also get a golden pass to travel wherever and whenever she wants???

It wasn't Jack's father in the hospital. I just checked the IMDB and the actor wasn't in this episode. He's only been in one this season.

Another thought occured to me. Perhaps this IS in the future, but lets say for arguements purposes, ONLY Jack and Kate got off the island for some reason. If there were survivors left, Jack would be a freak like he was trying to get back there, and possibly the dead person was someone else who got away? His original intention was to get off the island with the submarine and bring help back. Possibly his flying all over is so that he can plot out regions of ocean, hence the map-o-rama on the floor of his residence.

Who knows. With Lost already being approved for either 2 or 3 more seasons, I'm fairly certain we won't know till the end or at least much closer then the end of season 3.

I'l say this. Theres obviously something that made Jack and Kate have to seperate. Maybe all of our losties are seperated from eachother intially whe they are brought home. for interrogatio purposes.

They should be together so something happened that either nullified what she did. I'll say this... (again) if she is with sawyer. he is also wanted by the government for his shananagins...

so i doubt they are living all bueno unless some sort of a deal was made.

Maybe the losties eventual rescue from the island will involve a group like Dharma and this powerful group agrees to let the survivors go on with their lives as long as they do not say anything about their experiences. Also this group could clear up Kate's criminal record as part of the silence deal. Maybe each of the survivors were given "gifts" also to keep quiet.

Well something along these lines. Does this seem plausible?

jack and the rest in that area are rescued after jack made the phone call to the boat, probably, for sure they couldnt go back for the rest at the camp(sayid,hurley ect) they are left behind because they probably lost contact with the island after the first group(jacks group) got on the boat. jacks pissed off because he didnt get everybody rescued. next season you will see jack in that winter storm scene(the end of season2 last clip) which he finds the island again and tells the other guy to notify desmonds girlfriend.

Thats actually a pretty good thought.. might aswell be going down like that..
