Desmond David Hume
Desmond David Hume was the lone resident of the Swan at the time of the Flight 815 crash. He was discovered by Locke, Kate and Jack a month later after they had blown open Hatch. After his failed attempts to leave the Island, Desmond joined the camp of survivors. Following the destruction of the Swan, Desmond gained a mysterious ability to see flashes of the future, with which he predicted Charlie's imminent death.

Kate was wearing makeup, which conceals the freckles. We are used to seeing her without any makeup, and in my opinion she looks better without it.

agreed...every time I see her on a talk show, I'm a little shocked...she looks way better without the makeup.
they love their anagrams on this show...look at the name of the funeral parlor...it is an anagram for "flash forward"

They really tried to make her look angelic or something. Probably to foil Jacks misery. It's a really a shock to see her so superficial looking. Even in her flashbacks she's never really worn a lot of make-up or whatever.

I hope so! Because I'm not sure what Christian being alive would mean... especially when they've debunked that on the podcasts. I'll stop listening if they're pulling those kinds of tricks!

Watching it again it is not. It "appears' to be a man with a "burn mask" on.. there are no features to really make out.

FLASH BACK!!! what really happenedned
I like what you are all saying and kudos on the anagram.. BUT... the theory is wrong in one respect.
Flashing forward insinuates that back on the island jack might remember what he was flashing forward too... and change something. now i would like to think that was true but ti isnt.
What actually happened is that we were in present time with jack off the island.
HE WAS FLASHING BACK TO THAT DAY ON THE ISLAND... he wasnt flashing forward that doesnt make sense.
all flashbacks and flashes to this poitn have been used to show a character realizing something. usually it was from there past and it also applies to thier current situation on the island when the flashback is had. (desmond being the exception)

I think there is a chance that he could change the outcome... but maybe by the end. we'll be off the island and wiaiting by the airport and kate will come back to jack!!!

OK, my take on it: we have suspected for a long time that time itself ran at a different pace on the Island, what if the 90+ days they were there was actually only a week or two at most? They are picked up by the freighter and sworn to secrecy but when they start telling people they were there for 3 months people start looking at them really weird. They eventually realize they have to stop talking about it or they will be institutionalized. Jack told Kate "I can't keep on lying about it." - if they had spent 3 months on a mysterious Island where half of them were killed I don't think a golden plane ticket would cut it!
I think what we saw WAS the future, but a changed future - where Desmond changed events back at the start of this season when he warped back to Jolly old England. That changed everything else that happened, and maybe even saved Christian Shepherd's life. The Losties all remember a different version of events, as they were in the "bubble".
This also gives the producers one hell of a reset button to fix a great deal of what happened as far back as the premiere episode...one good jolt of magnetic energy and someone else can go back and make even more changes. And more, and more...until the plane never even has to crash in the first place.
Whoa, HEAD RUSH! I love time travel stories!
