I've seen an enchanced version of the newspaper article and it looks like it says Locke, John...this would make sense too becuase he definitley isnt jacks friend or family.

Jack has a lot of not friends though. Besides, I think Kate's reaction is much more telling than Jack's, as he is basically a lunatic by then. Kate, on the other hand, seems at least somewhat sane. To me, Kate seemed repulsed by the notion of attending the funeral. I don' think she had any animosity towards Locke. Ben, on the other hand would make more sense, but, knowing both Ben and John, I don't see them leaving the Island for any reason.

Here's a picture that's a little bit sharper, but you still can't make out the name. Although it does say it's a man.


I agree with Frogmeister. The writers are trying to drive us crazy.

My first thought was that it was Saywer, mostly because Jack called Kate. But now thinking about it, why would Jack get all teary-eyed over James? Who would he care so much about that he wants to off himself when he hears that person died.

Juliette would be a good guess. I don't think it would be Jackob because (if he exists) he would never leave the island. Same probably goes for Locke. It could be Rose... if she leaves the island her cancer may come back. That would meant that Bernard would have to die, because he would definately go to the viewing.

I guess we'll have to wait and see.

It must Ben in the coffin.
1. Who else would have nobody show up at their funeral? Ben had spent almost his entire life on the island, we know his family is dead and most likely he didn't know anyone in the real world.
2. When asked by the funeral director if he was friend or family Jack relied, "Neither." Who else would he say that about other than Ben?
3. When Kate reacts to Jack telling her about it she responds, "Why would I go?" Obviously this is someone Kate doesn't care for - Ben?

Thinking of who could it be? There really are only a few people that it could/would be. I'm leaning towards John Locke, because he was shot. I don't think it was Juliet, because there was no reason for her dying. He was so upset, not because it was someone he cared about or loved, but because he felt responsible. But why wouldn't kate go? So that's what makes me think, maybe it was Ben and Jack wanted to go because he was the only one that wasn't denying that they should have stayed there. He realized Ben was right. Or was he? Maybe Jack is the only one in pain and everyone else has gone on living and learning. I mean, Sun would have died, she needed to get off of the island. Yes everyone's lives sucked and I do think that's why they were put there, but i'm thinking it should have onlt been a lesson. They should have learned that their lives needed to change. So maybe Jack is the one in denial?



I don't want to admit it but.. HORRIBLE ending! Why would they leave us hanging like this?!!
