"How dare I"???? Let's keep some perspective here: it's a TV show. There is no need to get all upset about it like the Losties/Others are Israel/Palestine. The last thing I will say, and I think you'll agree it's hard not to criticiize...The Others gassed to death an entire community. I'll say it again: and ENTIRE community. Good guys just don't do that. Good guys don't brainwash people. They don't play with people's heads or terrify people unnecessarily. (Sawyer and his watch/heart exploding thingy). They don't manipulate. I'm not sure how anyone could possibly gloss over that fact and still find a way to claim (with great indignance) that the Others are the good guys. Gassed to death and entire community. And please don't say that Ben's dad was a bad guy and deserved to die that way.

The way they are the good guys is they didn't make the call. Jack made the call. If you have seen the season 4 preview they tell us that our Losties are screwed because of jack. Ben tells him not to. Remember what Charlie wrote on his hand before he dies. The Others are clearly the good guys. They are being purged by the Losties. If this does not prove to you that Ben is good then even if Ben went to his magic box and imagined himself up a new submarine and gave all the Losties Pixie dust and let them leave the island and have a magical life you would still see him as the bad guy because they wanted more Pixie dust and he was to selfish to give them all of it. The only person who has been brainwashed was carl. And it didn't even work so yeah...He just did it so Alex wouldn't be pregnant. Ben lies for a good cause. Think if he told everyone that he couldn't let them leave the island or contact the outside world but if they wanted to get everyone killed they can go to the looking glass and turn off the Jammer and leave the island. Yeah its best to keep that a secret. Everything was fine until the Losties came. Then the others wanted to learn about them and help them. They don't set people up to electric things and torture them. They were working probably as the same thing as Dharma aka saving the world. The Losties interrupted this. The island can not be found and the losties are determined to get it found so they can go home and kill them selves the right way. And how dare you blame him for there death. HE WAS CAPTURED BY THE LOSTIES DURING THIS TIME! It wasn't Ben it was the other, others. Plus the others never told Michael to kill anyone. This came purely from his sick mind. He stole a child from a island they were captured on? He wanted to steal Locke also. We saw Locke come there by his own will and he was never brainwashed. He helped Walt for all we know. Ben was captured by the Losties for a long time. Alot of things they did during this time he would not tell them to do. He ordered that neither of your 3 losties be killed. He saved there lives from Tom. He has Mercy. Sawyer who killed Tom doesn't.

Just so you know. If you watch the video it says they thought they had met the enemy and they thought wrong. Flat out telling you the others are NOT the enemy and Ben was right. That the REAL bad guys are coming.

Dude thats just the way I am about things. I guess I have strong opinions? I am not upset. Please don't take anything I say personally unless I private message it. If I am mad at people on forums I private message them because then people won't have to read the flames (But there ussually aren't flames when I message anyways). This doesn't happen alot but on one forum were I am a moderator some guy got mad at me for editing his post and taking the F word off of it. He said the other moderators let him cuss and I told him that I am a different person and the admin told me to take away the F word if I saw it. I told him to be more mature and he said he had mental disabilities and that I am a horrible person for telling him to be mature.

Also Ben did what he had to do to make sure he wasn't one of the people in the pit. What Ben did to Sawyer was so he wouldn't try and escape before Ben could show him it wasn't possible. Remember Sawyer also tried to kill Ben using the electricity thing. He only kept Karl in there because he didn't know what to do with him. It wasn't about brain washing so much it was just keeping him there until they find a place were he won't keep trying to escape. Because he escaped the cage and let sawyer go. Also he didn't want Karl to get Alex pregnant because he was scared it would kill her. Good guys do manipulate also...And if you say they don't then no one on this show is anywhere near a good guy. Remember the Losties are purging the others at the moment. History is repeating itself. They killed 7 of the others in the exploding and some more after that. So basically either the others are the good guys or no one is the good guys.

My guess is that it's Charlie... because he locked himself in that room when it started to flood. I thought he was going to swim out the little round window when the pressure of the water stopped but he never did.

Pip here is how I see it... Yes there are degree's of bad guys on this show some from pre island some on the island..

We have all been led by the writters of Lost to connect with the Losties.. The others are not GOOD PEOPLE!! They kidnap, kill, lie, manulipate and that was to serve their own purposes.. Yes the people Jack called could be The Worse Guys.. And yes I did see where the others and Losties are supposed to have to band together to fight off the newcomers who are the REALLY REALLY Bad guys..

But after all that the others have done to the Losties you can't expect everyone to just up and love them because they are the worst of the people coming to the island..

Respect is earned not just given.. Maybe this season they will earn the trust and respect you feel they deserve..

I just finished watching the entire season 3 episodes. Now that we're beginning to see previews from season 4, I'm thinking the coffin may be of a character we've yet to meet.

As far as the flash-forwards, it might be that these are things that occur in season 5.

The Losties are worse then the others. The LOSTIES have killed so many of the others. The others have only killed 2 Losties. Charlie and Scott. Ethan was not following order by killing Scott. So technically the others have only killed 1 Losty which is Charlie.

First, my native language is not English but I´ll try to explain myself.

Based on the information available on the piece of paper and in some clues
in season 3, I can say that the man in the coffin is John Locke, Why?

1.- You can read in the paper that he was found dead (not murdered), supposed he killed himself.
Why could someone hurt himself? big pain? Frustration? or sudden disability????
Let´s remember that in season 3 John tried to kill himself when he
found to have the paralysis back, but did not commit suicide because of Walt. Saved by the bell!

2- Now, let´s supposed that John came back from the Island (Which healed his paralysis)and
his disability was back when out of the island. He never assimilated his disability.

3.- Why was Jack so sad for the news on the paper about the dead man?
Let´s remember that Jack is a spinal surgeon and might promised John to heal him if he decided to
leave the island, but when back from the island, he obviously failed. That`s why he feels so bad.
He believes responsible for the decision taken by John. Remember when he cried after he made
the surgery to Sarah, to whom he married later?

4- Ok ok I know that the famous piece of paper has the ending letters "atham",
this is on purpose to cause confusion to the viewers. If you read the newspapers everyday,
you can easily see that editors sometimes incorrectly wirite peopleçs names? correct?
