I dont think Charlie is "dead" in the sense we thihnk dead means.

he needed to die, for them to be resuced?...makes no sense other then the fact that "dying" means "go back" to the "other" world...as did Desmond.

i throught that meybe charlie was not dead but he is and that is the sad thing.

heh forget it, don't listen to the producers because they promised many answears this season and never anweared them (example: what is the black smoke, how did Libby get in the hostpital with Hurley)

So don't pay too much attention to what they say.
