Naomi said to Charlie

In the beginning of this episode Naomi was talking to Charlie and realizes that he is the "Dead Rockstar from Driveshaft" She goes on to say that they made a big deal about him dying. They had a memorial service and released a Greatest Hits Album...

If they have only been on the island for 90 days, don't you think in the real world it would take longer to accomplish all of this..

Could this be a clue to the fact that time does pass differently on the island than in the real world..

Just something that stuck out to me when I rewatched the episode and thought I would find out what you all (everybody) thought..

I thought it was funny that they'd put out a Greatest Hits album when they only had one hit, probably one album. She may be lying...

Yea something does not add up here.. She said something like they even put out a 2nd album, a greatest hits..

NAOMI: Yeah yeah, I know you.
CHARLIE: We had our moment in the sun...
NAOMI: No not that, the crash. You're the dead rock star. They made a big deal out of you when they found the plane. Huge memorial service, new album.
CHARLIE: There's a new album?
NAOMI: Yeah, god it was everywhere... a greatest hits thing.
[Charlie smiles but then sees Desmond in the distance]
NAOMI: Hey, look on the bright side. You're not really dead, right?
CHARLIE: Yeah, right.
[They smile as Desmond walks on]

I think you are right Wed... I guess it could happen in 3 months, esp agents and has been rock stars needing money, but it just doesn't seem right. Also, there hasn't been any other mention of time from her... because it seems to me, or maybe it's a wish, that she wants to say "hey, you guys have been missing for like 5 years!" or some crazy period of time.

I know a lot of what Naomi has said make me "feel" like they have been missing or dead for longer than 3 months.. I mean how long would it take to find the wreckage, send down what ever equipment to survey the wreckage, Inform families or agents, then get the rest rolling.. Something here does not add up!

Ok So if this would have been just released then why say Was Everywhere? That to me would make it seem like the album was released sometime ago.. Fans made a big deal out of it but enough time has passed by to let the hype die back down...

So do you think she is a plant by those on the outside to tell the Losties that everyone thinks they are dead and to lose hope of ever being found! I have this little feeling....

Right... if she is telling the truth, it has to have been over a year on her time that the plane crashed. Has to be...

I am thinking that she is not telling the truth!!! or at least the full truth..

I was more suspicious about how many hits they actually had, rather than the time span to get it out there. It seems like stuff hits the market really fast in our digital age. Especially when there is a tragedy that can drive the demand.

True as well Frogmeister.. I was just thinking 3 months to:

1. Find the Missing plane
2. Confirm that the bodies were accounted for.
3. Report that the flight was missing.
4. Get the band members together to sign off on making the album
5. Making or putting the new album together
6. New album everywhere
7. Time for the hype to die down

I just think it seems like a lot, not saying wouldn't be possible =)

It seems to me that the episodes progress in a one day-to-next day manner on the Island, ie days elapsed since the crash, while the series progresses with the actual dates that the episodes are released.

So, in other words, it's been roughly 90 days since the crash on the Island, but 3 years or so since the series began.

Find the date the series premiered and tabulate the number of actual real time calendar days to tonight's episode on May 23, 2007.

Then, figure the total number of days the Lostaways have been marooned.

Divide calendar days by Island days, and you will come up with the ratio of off-Island to Island time which will be upwards of 10 days off Island equals 1 day on Island.

This might explain the longevity of the Others and why they appear to age differently, or not at all.

Any thoughts???
