Henry Gale... as i mantain calling him... ( or captain bunny killer ) is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. we dont know what happened in between his first encounter with Dick Alpert and now, but we know that even before that meeting he was somewhat autistic or willfully reserved... something was wrong... like damien the child. it was apparent that he was evil...

just like psych walt and psycho karl... and psycho young henry gale...

hmmm, something wrong with young Ben, yes, two words: his father. Trust me Benmer, I was suprised they made him out to be a sympathetic figure at the beginning of his ep, which changed rapidly during the events, but I can see why he was quiet as a child.
Most likely, his father would get drunk and berate little 'henry' about things the boy had said and done, since Uncle rico obviously loathed the boy, so better to be quiet. Also, living in the dichotomy under the guise of an island research facility looking for peace and harmony while you live in fear and anger with a drunken father, well, thatwill probably shake loose some marbles.

I agree Cable, his childhood molded him into this man. He was able to watch his Father die from some type of poison gas, he is a little looney, and now more so than ever because, "Locke heard him."

If I am remembering correctly in “The Answers” the producers said that growing up with Roger made Ben a dark and twisted individual.. Also they described him as dangerous, smart and creepy.
