Default A Storm Brewing for Charlie...

I enjoyed seeing Charlie's growth as a character and I also enjoyed the tie in with him singing in the rain "Save me" before he helped that woman in distress. In Desmond's flashback, didn't he see Charlie singing in the rain, which triggered his flashes about Charlie. I found it interesting that Charlie is singing about someone saving him, when he is the one that ends up saving the woman in the alley and he is the one that wants to do whats right to "save" Claire and Aaron and get them rescue.

yeah, seems like he enjoys playing on street corners and singing "Wonderwall" a lot, and it seems to rain when he does it, too - well, it is England...how very cliche to be raining...

Charlie has certainly come full circle on the island and in his life. The redemption theme is definitely showing itself to be prominent with him. I have had mixed feelings about him in times past, however he has turned out to be one of the least selfish characters. He made his peace with Sun, he has put Claire and Aaron ahead of himself. Maybe Desmond kept saving Charlie's physical life until he could make things right in his life, which in the end is what really saves a person.

OH Frog!!! NICE!! Yes, yes, that makes so much sense about Desmond saving Charlie's physical life...HMMM...i wonder if all the Losties need saving (we know they do) and once they have made their peace, they die. I guess this goes along with the whole purgatory theory. Seems like Desmond, Locke, and Ben are all parts of a whole...sorry, rambling

Charlie's never been among my favorite Losties but he's definitely grown on me for reasons similar to what Frogmeister wrote above.. Though I agree that his character seems to have come to a full circle and a much hinted death looks real close, producers have also shown great interest in playing fort-da games with the death of Charlie and closure of his story..

So it might as well be one of those visions of Desmond that would turn not altogether true or fit for the ever-becoming reality. The absence of any indication of hatch- staff in Desmond's vision about the Looking Glass might be related to this.

Even if his little dive to LG is bound to be the end of Charlie and that Desmond's vision is all correct with the course of Nature/destiny etc., I don't think that people at Looking Glass will get rid of Charlie right away either- highly likely that he'll spend some time down there, as the LG 'staff' (?) would try to learn more about/ from our guy before they figure out what to do with him.

In that case, the impression on Desmond and Losties would be that Charlie's all gone... But what's more interesting is that Charlie will probably not be able to do anything about the 'yellow switch' in time with Losties aiming for the Radio Tower. So that part of Jack and Sayid's plan would fail then? What a disappointment it'd be for Losties if they were to figure out that Charlie couldn't kill Rousseau's loop and think that he died for nothing..

for some reason after hearing that part of the song "maybe your gonna be the one that saves me" is a bit of a hint. I think Desmond is gonna be pissed when he wakes up and goes down and "saves me"

but there also seems to be good closure to charlie. the ring story...flashes...etc.

I just wish Claire had seen the ring in Aaron's cradle.

The ring will end up with Aaron where it belongs. The island has a way of making sure that everything that is hidden is revealed. It will just be a matter of how long it will take. It would have been nice if Charlie would have explained the significance of the ring in his greatest moments note.

Charlie will give the ring to Aaron himself, right before he proposes to Claire, because there's no way Desmond's premonition of their rescue is going to come true next episode. I think he's going to live.

I'm with you Frogmeister - I wish Charlie would have explained the ring and who Dexter Stratton was.

So do you think Desmond will live as well, Lizard? Or do you think Desmond will die in Charlie's place?
