Sun-Hwa Kwon

Sun-Hwa Kwon (née Paik ?) (Revised Romanization of Korean (RR): Baek Seon-hwa, McCune-Reischauer (MR): Paek So(n'hwa) is one of the middle section survivors of the crash of Oceanic Flight 815. She was traveling on the plane with her husband, Jin-Soo Kwon. Their marriage has been very unstable, on and off the island, mainly due to Jin's controlling and violent nature and also because of Sun's many secrets that she will go to great lengths to protect even if it involves hurting others e.g. the maid in "The Glass Ballerina". She is currently pregnant with Jin's child, and according to Juliet the pregnancy will kill her in two months like every other pregnant woman who conceived on the island.

Default Horrible Episode!

This was definitely a disappointment for an episode right before the season finally. I think we got just as much information form the 60 second preview then this whole episode. I think they wasted to much time with Charlie and his flashbacks then rushed the rest of the episode. The writers did a poor job and left out many important details.

1. Where did Sayid find the map of the underwater hatch? He better have not found it in the flame which they encountered 3 weeks ago (island time). I mean, when was he planning to tell the losties about it? When was he planning to investigate that? What an opportune moment to pull out that map and start debriefing everyone about where its at and how to get to it.

2.Why did someone have to go down to turn off a switch to shut down whatever it is that is being used to jam all communication to and from the island. I’m no communication specialist but why not just cut or blow up the power cord running to the hatch? I don’t see how that hatch can generate its own power so I’m guessing the cord running to it is providing it.

3.Charlie writing his top 5 greatest hits took up way to much of the show. The season is about to end and the writers chose this episode to have pointless flashbacks about Charlie. To make matters even worst, how can he not include Christmas morning waking up between two hot Blondie’s as one of his greatest moments HA!

That should have been number one! But noooo meeting Claire was, how cliché!

I have to say this season has not been consistent at all. It has had some great episodes to only then follow horrible ones. From the previews it looks like the ‘Others” are still a step ahead of the Losties and it’s getting pretty old. Ben continues confronting people who have been stranded in an island for 90 days, who have been kidnapped, violated, injected, beaten up and are armed with guns but yet thinks none of them will be crazy enough to put a slug in his head. From the previews it looks like he and Ben confront each other while going to the communications tower. If Sawyer doesn’t shot him while he is yapping his bull-shyt mouth or Locke amazingly heals and shows up to kill bull-shyt Ben, I will honestly turn off the t.v!!! The writers are dragging this waaaaaaaaay to long. They have turned Ben into a marvel comic villain who can see and speak to ghost, who everyone is afraid to confront and can never die! Ridicules

I can't be more in disagreement with you Copin, but I understand how you feel, there were some hokey moments in the show, and the power cable had better be explained. As for Sayid and the maps, I guess he got them from the Flame, but felt it wasn't important to the issues at the moment on the island, but lo and behold, an issue comes along.
However, I posted in another thread I didn't think Charlie is going to die, but after reading your post and what a waste Charlie's bit was, it makes perfect sense to kill him now. He's said his goodbye's. I don't know, the episode reminded me of the long lost days of season's one and two, ssome action, some mystery, some sadness. I liked.

Sorry you feel so disappointed Copin. It is not how I felt about it at all. It seemed like the second movie in a trilogy to me. They are always the least satisfying....they are there to set up the ending. I have found that I enjoy Lost much more when I do not try to pick apart every single detail...but instead just enjoy the ride. This show is not reality based, it is pure fantasy. I figure that Sayid has had the maps, and has been studying them for future use. He has been a little busy with Naomi and keeping watch over the Losties in Jack's absence. Since Jack has been back, I think his main concern has been watching over Juliet since he does not trust her. Not until last night did he have any idea that signals were being jammed by an underwater station. That changed his priorities.

I actually loved this episode, it was one of my favorites this season. It really allowed us to see how far Charlie has come and how much he has grown since the washed up has been hooked on heroine. Him giving the ring to Aaron touched me, and his number 1 favorite memory in his "so called life" The Day I met you actually brought tears to my eyes. I really enjoyed this episode. I'm sorry you didn't like it Copin

Well put again Frog. Along for the ride, that's how I feel watching the show, to me, it's just a great work of fiction, a great book written by King, but acted out perfectly and written solidly, where so many studios in the past have wrecked great works of fiction during the transition to the little and big screen. It can't be perfect, and I won't spend time on every detail... ok, I will, but I will let some things slide!!!

And besides, Claire is sweet AND hot, I'm sure Charlie didn't meet many of those types of girls as a nobody, then a rocker, then a drug abuser!

I see the episode not only as setting up the big finale showdown battle w/e but also as a fairwell to Charlie. I think that is why they used up so much time on him. He's been a favorite main character for 3 years. Which sucks because now I totally think he is going to die. I cried when he said bye to Aaron and Claire and when he hugged Hurley. Ugh!

Wink In Agreement with Copin

1. Where did Sayid find the map of the underwater hatch?

2.Why did someone have to go down to turn off a switch to shut down whatever it is that is being used to jam all communication to and from the island. I’m no communication specialist but why not just cut or blow up the power cord running to the hatch? I don’t see how that hatch can generate its own power so I’m guessing the cord running to it is providing it.

To make matters even worst, how can he not include Christmas morning waking up between two hot Blondie’s as one of his greatest moments HA!

I had the EXACT same questions Copin...where did that map come from??? and to offer no explanation? and the cable, why not just cut it? the only reason I can think of not to is maybe because they want to preserve the power source but disable the jamming...who knows...and why the greatest hits? i mean, how did that advance the story? hokey

1. has to be from the folders he found in the Flame hatch...whether you like this idea or not is a different issue, but they must have come from the Flame.

2. see other threads on this, but my feeling is that it is not simply a power cable that can be cut; maybe its a communications cable so that the hatches like the Flame can communicate with it, but its power comes from somewhere else, so cutting this cable would not turn off the jamming.

3. seems to me like having Charlie show us his greatest memories is setting him up to die very soon...as in maybe next week...

Why didn't Juliet tell the Losties that there were people in the Looking Glass? And who was the woman being mugged that Charlie helped? She looked familiar.
