That's what I was wondering. Did Ben care for her, or did he just shrug his shoulders and murmur, "Collateral damage," so to speak.

Good post, i have no doubt that next season we will have another Ben-centric ep which will cover this topic. If he got her pregnant and died, that most likely only solidified his hatred for the Dharma Intitiative. His father (Uncle Rico) asked if had a date when Ben kept looking at his watch and Ben had a wry smile after that.
If Annie was still there, then I feel bad for everyone, because Ben is pure evil.

Wouldn't it be weird if Annie was actually Rousseau and she lied about her identity dun dun dun. I don't think thats necessarily true but wouldn't that be a hot twist!

thats a very interesting post about the Rousseau - Annie connection. I think it would explain a missing link that i dont think has been addressed. how did ben and rousseau concieve alex if we are to believe both of their stories about arrival on the island. Also, there lies an answer to the problem of on island conception and death. any explanations to this ridiculous complexity?

You know, now that I think about it, I didn't see any scientists at The Barracks. Even Uncle Rico had "Workman" embroidered under his name.

Was "The Barracks" built to house just the hired help (cooks, janitors, nurses, elementary school teachers, laundry people, etc.) and their children?

There weren't ANY children at the gassing of the Dharma people. There seems to only be adults. Maybe they did that so that we wouldn't have to see any disturbing scenes of dead children - but I watched Charlie get shot in the neck with an arrow. So are the kids with The Richard people?

i think that ben and annie was in love. Just before Ben kills his dad he packs the doll of her in his bag. This means he has some feelings for her and in the last episode he still had it. He most still have feelings for her. So something must of happened like they got married, she died becuase she was peagent or she could of died in the purge

I have a coffee mug which made me think of Ben and Annie.

It says, "I love you so much that if we were on a sinking ship and there was only one life preserver left...

...I would miss you terribly and think of you often."

That's what I think happened with Ben, Annie, and the little wooden carving.

I seem to remember on the "Pearl Filmstrip" Dr. Mark Wickman said something about serving so much time on a shift then the people were to take the boat at the Pala Ferry back to the Barracks, in season 2. At the time I figured that the Barracks were on a different island, but with all the reveals in season 3 - we know the Barracks are on the same island as the Pala Ferry. Why take the boat - are they on opposite sides of the island? (I thought the Barracks were in the center of the island - that is still a mystery to me - we know there were roads and vans because Roger made deliveries with the VW vans) Or is it because the Smoke Monster cannot go across the water so it is safer? Or is there Another set of Barracks on another island (not the hydra station? since I have NOT seen Isabel anywhere in the Barracks where Ben's house is.)
