That is brilliance frog, if the key to communicating with Jacob fully is ben and locke's presence, that may be why Jacob put on such a show.

I hope this hasn't been posted already, but did you guys see the jars on the shelf in the back of the room at Jacob's house? They looked like they were filled with blood.

I like the theory that Ben could see and hear Jacob until Locke arrived on the island. I think Ben expected Locke to be able to see and hear him too and then was happy when he couldn't. But then, Locke heard him and this angered Ben. I think if Locke would've walked in and seen Jacob right away Ben's plan was to kill him. That is why Alex gave Locke the gun. Knowing if Locke had the same powers as Ben, Ben would kill him. I think if Locke had walked out and not heard 'help me' then Ben would've been very pleased and taken him back to camp yada yada yada. Or maybe killed him anyway because everyone is looking to Locke as a leader, when he beat up Mikhail, Ben said 'Tom!' 'Richard!' and they ignored him. Ben is losing his leadership to Locke. Why would Jacob ask for help though if he is so powerful? Also, smokey has been inside and outside the fence so how is it that the sonic fence contains him or keeps him out?? Unless it goes through it when it is off or has to go under it from certain places.

Ooh, I like that idea Frogmeister. It plays into the whole ying yang thing they seem to be setting up with Ben and Locke.

I think these are the jars you are reffering to.

Okay the jars are strange! It looks like there is something inside those jars - my dad was a biology teacher and the jars reminded me of the jars of formaldihyde(spelling) in which they preserved critters. Sometimes if the jars were old they would get cloudy.

I was thinking along those lines too.. But just for fun what if it is amniotic fluid from the lost pregnancies? Just another idea to throw out there!

The jars were odd, I wasn't thinking blood, but urine, like Jacob has no potty time. Did you guys also see the picture Locke looked at when he first entered the shack, it looked like a dog, a whitish dog... Vincent anyone. I couldn't see it on my TV, but when i watched again online it was pretty clear. Screencaps anyone?

i was kidding about the Dhama Urine, but heck, who knows.
