That's what I think, too. No expert in physics here but if a plane crashes into the ocean and its wreckage is to be found that deep, would not the bodies get drastically crashed or sandwiched due to sudden exposure to high-pressure? I'm referring to the speed of falling and the natural force of resistance coming from the meeting of bodies of plane and water (which, btw, would make a cement-floor effect when you fall from air-traffic height)..

Now as far as the bodies crushing due to the ocean pressure I’m not sure, but Naomi did say something in the regards of vessels taking pictures of the bodies in the plane. Now I am assuming the bodies were in tacked. Enough so that they were able to be properly identified, which must mean they weren’t crushed but what did they use to identify them? Blood samples, teeth, bones, hair? I mean how did the others manage to replicate any of that?

Jacques Cousteau led an expedition to the bottom of the Marianas Trench in the mid to late Sixties in the submersible Trieste. I can't recall the maximum depth they recorded, but it was approaching 30,000 feet. And that was with 40 year-old technology.

The vessel that Jacques Cousteau had was air tight and had renforcements to withstand deep sea pressure, a plane that broke apart on the surface, if we are in agreement that it did, wouldn't do so well under that same pressure. I believe the finding of 815 was somehow a hoax, simply because of the fact that the plane was off course, and had lost communications. It would be impossible to even know where to start looking for this plane wreckage.

I found this link which says that The Losties said they were heading toward Fiji & Desmond made referance to Fiji as well.. Then Bali is thousands of miles east of Fiji so the wreckage they found was no where near where they are!

This is another reason I think the wreckage they found is a hoax. Thanks Wednighter, again!

I'm just getting caught up with Lost and just finished this episode and am loving it so far. One of the questions I have though is the man that is playing Locke's dad, who Sawyer ends up killing this episode because of who he is. Is he really Locke's dad or was that just one of his cons saying he was dad to get his kidney, but he really has nothing to do with him?

Anthony Cooper is John Locke's biological father. I think that was the main reason he conned Locke for the kidney instead of someone else. Since Locke was really his son the chances of a successful kidney transplant would be much greater.
