I think that as well. The only way the would be ok is if they were in somthing air tight, and strong enough to withstand the pressure. But that couldn't be a plane.

considering the fact they lost cabin pressure probably not. but now were delving into separating what we saw as the crash in the show, and what naomi belives to be true. which is just weird. I think this may have something to do with what the writers said about time behaving differently on the island, than it does everywhere else. Even naomi said when her ship arrived at the given cooridinates all they saw was ocean, no island. and also said that her finally seeing the island coincided closley to her losing control of her helicopter.thoughts?

I don't know. I'm starting to think that the ocean that they saw was some kind of mirage, an optical illusion. And the fact that when she saw land she started to crash is rather strange. Almost as if once you see this special place, you're doomed.

I'm also a bit sceptical of her because you don't bail out of a helicopter. As a helicopter pilot if it is going down, so are you.

Ok there is 5,280 feet in one mile. Confirmed by Lostpedia Naomi said the plane was found in a trench 4 miles deep which means the plane is about 21,120 feet deep. Using the link below you will find a company which has built a vessel capable of diving depths over 20,000 deep and able to fit 3 people in it. I copied a paragraph for those who do not wish to read the whole article.

Link Deep Ocean Expeditions

“In early 2000 he got together with Michael McDowell, an Australian entrepreneur and adventurer who is the CEO of a company called Deep Ocean Expeditions (DOE). DOE regularly charters the Russian research ship Akademik Mistivlav Keldysh and its two Mir submersibles of offer tourist dives to famous places on the seafloor of the world ocean. At 6,500 tons, it is the world's largest oceanographic vessel while the Mirs are capable of diving with three people to depths as great as 20,000 feet. This depth capability meant that they could reach 98% of the seafloor worldwide.”

Now as far as the bodies crushing due to the ocean pressure I’m not sure, but Naomi did say something in the regards of vessels taking pictures of the bodies in the plane. Now I am assuming the bodies were in tacked. Enough so that they were able to be properly identified, which must mean they weren’t crushed but what did they use to identify them? Blood samples, teeth, bones, hair? I mean how did the others manage to replicate any of that?

At that depth you usual find bottom dwellers and fish like crustaceans, bacteria some not all which feed of dead carcass such as whales, sharks along with fish and anything else that is claimed by “Davy Jones locker”.

Now with the amount of bodies that were on flight 815 there is no possible way that all those bodies were decomposed and eaten up by bottom dwellers in less then 90 days. Plus by the time it took to build a replica of Oceanic 815 that alone would take months but let’s say for the sake of argument it took them 1 month to do it. That would give 60 days for the bodies to decompose and that’s not happening. I know it’s just a show and I don’t mean to nick pick but it is far fetched. I really don’t know where the writers are going with this other than that Naomi is lying or the “Others” are the all mighty rulers of the world and control everything! Crazy lol
You are probably right about the bottom dwellers, but I have to disagree with the time it would take to replicate flight 815. the plane is a 777 boeing, and they would only have to change a few certain numbers since it was 4 or 5 miles down. I mean it's not like they could inspect it like it was sitting in a hangar.

We do have to remember that the others were taking blood samples and such right away when they sent Ethan & Goodwin in to infiltrate the camps.. They could have gotten enough DNA samples to fake proof of who they were without having to pull the plane up and all

I'm sceptical of her as well. If you eject form a chopper wouldn't you get chooped up from the propeller? How did she managed to parachute off the chopper?

So you are saying you can manufacture a 777 boeing in a couple of days?

It would take weeks just to receive the amount of metal and electronic parts it takes to build an aircraft. Unless you can buy a 777 boeing on Ebay this is impossible. Sorry

On the plane issue: the producers of Lost went to a used plane lot and bought the plane used on the show. So if they can buy an old plane and stage a crash scene on a beach that looks believable, why can't a super powerful shady organization have an old plane at their disposal and sink it deep deep deep into the ocean?

And you can't eject from a helicopter, that would send you up into the blades and they move around quite fast I am told You jump down from the chopper, like Ashton Kutcher in 'The Guardian'. It makes more sense to me that she jumped from high up (considering her gear) from a plane and steered herself to the island.

When Michael was leaving the island he was given specific coordinates or directions or whatever. Like you can only get to/leave or SEE the island from a certain angle, like a rainbow
