I agree Hazzard, I think Jack IS a part of the scheme, but is being schemed upon mostly. The others need him for the plan to work. However, it's not clear how things will work out, since we now know Juliette hates Ben and all.

RUmoon, I see what you mean as well. Actually when Jack was asking Sun about the pregnancy I was kinda suprised she was so defensive. Given that he's a doctor, isn't it natural for him to be concerned about how the pregnancy is going? At that time, though, it slipped my mind that she would be nervous since he spent that week with the others.

normal that the only doctor around wants some update on what looks like the island's only pregnancy for the moment. (though, like Juliette indicated in her little report to Ben, there is 'Austin' to keep an eye on). especially since Jack knows from Juliette's explaining and Claire's sickness that pregnancy is an issue on the island.

Yet again, the tattoo says 'he walks among us, but he's not one of us'. Jack also said to Kate when they met in Othersville that "he was not on anybody's side". Just trying to get off the place..

Yea I agree with this. He has been changed by spending time with the Others but I don't think he's working for them. I think they showed him something 'in the box' like they did with Locke, and his perspective has cahnged, but there's no reason to think he's working for them at the moment.

There is a definite change in Jack's behavior since we first knew him. That pure/selfless man has faded and Jack now seems more distant and a little unapproachable. We can't ignore this change in behavior. Good ideas everyone

Or it is just part of Ben's manipulation. Be buddy-buddy with Jack and then send him back to his peeps. Naturally the rest of them will be suspicious, no matter what Jack says or does. He asked Claire all sorts of questions when she was still pregnant too, those are just standard check up questions. I think he is acting the same as he did before he was taken, except with Kate. Hanging around Juliet is the main thing that is worrying everyone but think about this, if he came back from the Other's camp and had something to hide wouldn't he distance himself from Juliet? To keep the losties faith and trust in him. He would not be sticking up for her and sharing oatmeal with her IMO.

I also think this is why everyone is doubting Jack

I think we might find out that Jack and Juliet did share some kind of intimate moment back in otherville. Now not necessarily a wild week of island sex, but something that brought Jack a lot closer to her. Lovey dovey things that would make him say stupid stuff like "she is under my protection" instead of just rationally talking to Sayid and trying to explain stuff.
I don't think Jack is working with Ben. Nope. He is just the same old dumb school boy he has always been. He has book smarts, great doctor skills, a natural desire to help, but underneath it all he is a just a little boy that thinks his Dad never loved him.

I think he may have been shown the files on his former comrades just as was Locke.

And, now Jack sees them in a different light, just as does Locke.

He has lost that common bond he had with the rest of the Losties because they all ended up either lying or misrepresenting their circumstances. He feels alienated and alone

Since he no longer feels a kindred bond with them, he is spending more time with the ONLY one on the Island that he perceives has endured a similar alienation or mistreatment -- Juliet.
