People coming back to life? Nobody's looking for Flight 815 because the plane has been found and everybody is dead?

I am sooo disappointed with the ending of this episode.

I'm not. We already know that a Madusa spider can paralize you for 8 hours. I think we can assume that we saw the whole buried alive thing to set up Patchy's return. They showed us you can fake a death. Otherwise what was the point of N and P"s death.
We know the Others had contact with the outside word for a while. They could have sent word to the mainland, to have them release the news that flight 815 crashed and there were no survivors. That way no one would look for them.
Granted, not as cool as The twilight zone but, very possible.

Yeah definitely a lot of What the heck moments on the show tonight, and the Naomi's about Flight 815 was crazzy. And Patchy is alive? How the heck do you fake blood squirting out of your ears??

I am not disappointed at all, just more confused than ever.

I liked this episode - good suprise ending - and who would have that kind of capital to afford to stage a fake plane crash? (Mr. Paik runs Paik Automotive and according to the LE - Paik Heavy Industries - that sounds like a place I could get some mechanical parts from or made) How much of the plane was found - everything? bodies included? (is that why the Others take blood - to fake the dna identification records on the other crash)? Mikhail's mouth-frothing death was suspicious to me from the beginning and i think i even suggested that it might be that he bit down on an implanted capsule in his tooth - cold war spy stuff - he was in intelligence gathering, was he not?

There could've been a duplicate made of flight 815, or...well I'm not quite sure what else. But the duplicate idea actually came from my boyfriend.

And yeah, either Patchy really didn't die, or he has some freaky twin. I mean, he had blood coming out of his ears, and foam from the mouth...What in the heck!

Loved the ending. Great cliffhanger moment, for sure. I think the fact that Naomi pronounced flight 815 as having been found with no survivors confirms the large conspiracy surrounding the crash. Yes, it would take someone with great power, money, influence. I still think Widmore is up to his eyeballs in this deal and actively working with someone (Jacob?) to set up certain events. Now a days it would be quite easy to fake this accident. You wouldn't even need to use a real plane crash site if you had the proper contacts. We have the technology now to create a completely realistic crash scene with computer graphics. You only need to create a graphically realistic "recovery movie" and then release it to the media. It would be accepted as a reality....why would anyone question it?

Yea thats what I was thinking. How do you fake that?! It made me wonder about when Patchy said something about how wounds work differently on the island. But wounds compared to blood coming out of your ears seems like two opposite ends of the spectrum. But maybe there is some kind of loophole that the others are aware of on how to heal quicker. I don't know.

As far as the revelation at the end, I found it quite haunting. I think a lot of us have wondered about what the world things became of the flight. I mean we know that old lady in desmond's flashbacks has a similar gift and can mess with realities. So maybe there is a way to make them appear dead or they set up an alternate reality. I'm not sure, but I don't think its a clear-cut explanation and I think it leaves a lot to wonder about, which is good.

I have to agree I think that there is a bigger conspiricy going on and they faked the plane wreckage that was found... This could be why the others have so much information about the Losties.. They had to put a lot of money and information to make it believable that they found the plane

I think it'd be pretty easy to fake a plane crash, scatter a debris field in the ocean or on land have the whole plane etc completely destroyed, just a pile of ashes. What I'm wondering is the who and why

Who could afford it? Someone with bottles of $50K scotch sitting in their office and a contempt for the "lower" classes of people.

It's entirely possible that the Flight 815 these people boarded was not the "real" flight - that they were all hand picked in some way and for some purpose yet to be revealed.

As Steph pointed out in chat last night, Charlie was actually meant to be in the tail section but was instead being chased by Cindy while he was doing his heroin. Could that be why he is meant to die now (and why only Bernard (and Cindy - OTHER?) remain of the tail section?
