Fine Scottish vintage

OK, I'm willing to suspend disbelief on most things on this show; smoke monsters, single engine planes from Nigeria crashed in the South Pacific, time travel. But do the producers really expect us to believe that a Scottish-made wine could sell for 100 euros a bottle? Please. They should have sent Desmond to a monastery in Spain if they wanted to include that in the plot line.

How much is 100 euros in American Money? I have no clue.. hehe

It was 100 QUID, 100 english pounds.

That's about $200. But some wine is expensive eh ..

Wine (espically good wine) is expensive.. We would have to know that if Whitmore is buying this wine it has to be concidered a high quality just like his Scotch Whiskey!!

Heh, no worries. I just sometimes forget that most of the Lost fanbase is American, and probably doesn't have a clue what "quid" means.

That WAS yeas ago though, when the dollar was stronger. 100 quid back then, 1995 by the bottle's year, is about 60$. Still expensive for a bottle, but perhaps it has more of a meaning to people than just the wine lovers.. Moriah Vineyards, perhaps the monks don't wash their feet for years, and then stomp the grapes, giving it an oaky taste..
