At the beginning of the episode, when the scenes start flashing by, we see the red light in the sky, the parachuter's feet and we see Charlie along with Jin and Hurley holding the parachute to catch her...So Charlie wasn't supposed to die? Desmond was supposed to save him? How can one vision, one 'sequence of events' show Charlie dying and then show him alive and well? Desmond's story line confuses me more than anything.

Its weird because they kept focusing the image on the boots hanging as well. Almost as if the girl from the helicopter was dead because Charlie was dead. But once he broke that part of the vision, the rest of the vision changed as well. Does that make sense at all?

Yea.. Like the butterfly effect.. Any change from what is supposed to happen, can drastically change what happens in the future from the point in which you changed.... I have thought this is true when it comes to Desmond!

Oh Nice Wednighter! That is a good parallel with the Butterfly Effect. I mean it def. makes sense why the picture in the vision changes for Desmond, but maybe he is not interpreting his visions correctly. Like he thinks that one thing is supposed to happen, but in reality he is actually supposed to change it.

yea maybe thats ture. Am sure we will find out that if des lets chairle die that the pic will be the same or something like that
