Yeah the picture does look strange. I cannot think of a reason why, but surely it was intentional.

I bet the priest is not aware of her in the picture. She only apperead there as a symbol of Desmond corse correcting himself to Penny and then to the island.
But he also may be "Father" Time. Pretty funny huh?

Ok, so the pic is faked, but that's not the point. Mrs Hawking is in the picture to show that Desmond never had a chance, he would always find Penny (shiny Penny) fall in love, ask her hand from her father, become discouraged, and end up pushing that damn button. So what is the Catch 22, I really doubt it's Charlie, or why would that be the book the parachutist bought, and not something Sawyer would be reading at the beginning of the episode. Something has changed with Desmonds timeline, his Fate, and now he has the opportunity to be with Penny again, but at what cost.
Penny has found the entrance to the island, and sent a subordinate to bring Des a message. We really don't know how much Penny has learned in the three years since we've seen her, but it's probably a vast amount of knowledge of the island, since she had guys looking for it in the Arctic.

I think everyone noticed the woman in the picture, but the fact it looks Photoshopped is probably because of a production error (well not 'error', but not as good as it could have been) rather than the photo being changed within Lost.

This pic shows that Charlie was holding the parachute in Desmond's flashes (small pic) though, he would've been dead....

yea I think something else was different too. Im gonna rewatch it, but It looked like someone was hanging dead in des's flashes. then he saved charlie and the person hanging was alive? maybe

One thing that was different is that in Des' flashback Penny seemed to have a foliage background, meaning she was on the island in the flashback.

Oh, and (now some of you out there, and you know who you are

) will say this is a prop error. But Yemi's church cross and the cross and the monestery are the same. And we know that Mr. Eko went to London in Yemi's place. plus Mr. Eko was telling one of our Losties (help me out, please) that he had served in a small church outside of London. It is possible, although maybe not probable, that that cross was there curtesy of Brothe' Tunde.
