I am not a 100% sure but I swore Ben said he was born on the island when talking to Locke in TMFT eppy. Also I understood it to be a problem keeping the mothers alive more than the babies. In otherwords the mothers would die before carring the baby to term so a baby would be ok until its mother died before giving birth. Maybe it is pretty much the same thing.

Sun told Jin what the Dr told her--that the problem was Jin,but he (Dr)was afraid to tell him--- So Jin thought Sun was the one with the fertility problem--If the baby is not Jins,she could have told him the Dr was obviously wrong,I'm cured,you're gonna be a daddy!! Affair on the island~as close an eye as Jin had on Sun at first~I don't think so.. However,we'll see tonight!!(YEA)
