I don't think the island brought them together. Believe it or not it’s the simple concept of “6 degrees of separation”. Just coincidence, I don't think it has anything to do with the island or their being something to it. That’s why the producers have been astonished at all the weird theories fans have came up with. I don't think they ever intended it for it to mean anything. But because they listen to what fans have to say I bet they will try to add it in to the script some how but I don't believe this was their initial intentions.

We know James Ford was Deported from Austrillia... There could have been something in the deportation files or a mole in the police department there that could have given them leads... There had to be some kind of trail to James Ford since the dude that met him in the hotel room gave him the info about this man..

This is exactly the point I am trying to make. I agree with everyone that Ben and his gang obviously have the power and means to get information or spy on anyone. But if the losties were not known to them before the crash. Which I think is clearly shown to be the case. Then how could they know about Frank Duckett? (the guy that Sawyer killed in Austrialia)
I guess they could have gotten to the guy that gave sawyer the false info that Duckett was the reall Sawyer.

The cops wouldn't deport Sawyer if they had known he had shot Duckett..So it was not public knowledge..

Meanwhile, at an Australian Police Department, Detective Calderwood brings Sawyer in for being in a bar fight and head-butting the Minister of Agriculture, Warren Truss (presumably a day or two after his cameo in "Hearts and Minds"). Calderwood calls Sawyer by his real name (James) and explains that he knows all about his cons and felonies. Calderwood books him on a flight out of Australia, claiming it is because incarceration would take more work and money than Sawyer is worth. Therefore, Sawyer is deported on Flight 815, told never to return to Australia.

Henry Gale and the others DONT have the ultimate power. Its whoever Jacob is... OR Dick Alpert. Becuase without outside support, they would not likey be able to do all they have AND get information like they had bout our losties. They need someone with money who can feed them and support them and supply them with information and other stuff. I know c4 didnt grow on that island....

Exactly Benmer - that's why I said "dig up the $8 million in diamonds and bribe your way off the island." Someone in the outside world could use that (pay for all the expense of printing "Dharma" on every stinking thing).

(2 or 3 episodes ago) I don't know if it came up, but I watched this episode and there was broken class on top of a car where juliette said her fairwell to her sister. The broken glass seems like it was from lockes fall. So locke fell out (his fathers office) of the facility where juliette was recruited does that make sense?

Is this the scene you are talking about? The shiney stuff on the roof of Juliet and Rachel's car is water.

Someone was pointing out the continuity glitch in that there was rain on the roof of the car and the car's side windows, but no rain on the front window. I don't know if this is true or not, but from looking at Folie's photo - I think it's rain, too.
