 Paulo
Paulo was one of the middle section survivors of Flight 815. Before the crash, he and Nikki Fernandez murdered Howard L. Zukerman and stole his diamonds. They spent most of their time on the island searching for these diamonds to the exclusion of almost everything else. A bite from a Medusa spider induced a death-like paralysis in Paulo. He subsequently died as a result of being buried alive while paralized.

pretty cool stuff. I thought the code for the fence would probably include some of the numbers, but that video shows it really well.
As far as the games in the background, I noticed a Backgammon game but not the mousetrap one. I guess Locke and his dad were playing with it earlier...  LOL 
The cerebrus thing looks convincing but not sure if that was the digital effects intention or just coincidence.

Constellations are not actual pictures in the sky, but when you draw little lines with your finger and kinda squint your eyes you can see where the Greeks and Romans were coming from with Cygnus, Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, (hey! did I just mention swans and bears? Hmmm). We don't really believe there are Gorgons, or Hydras, or Minataurs, but it is as Folie stated, the three-blobbed smoke monster (named Cerberus) that guards the creepy island ["liberate te ex inferis" - save yourself from hell - courtesy of the blast door map] is similar to the three-headed dog named Cerberus that guards the entrance to Hades in Greek mythology.
