Hugo "Hurley" Reyes
Hugo "Hurley" Reyes is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. Hurley's father disappeared when he was at a young age for almost 17 years. Afterwards, Hurley suffered an eating-disorder and after a traumatic accident he was sent to a mental asylum when he started seeing an imaginary person. Ever since, he has changed and has been extremely concious of his sanity and how people view him. When Hurley won the lottery, he was not overjoyed, instead he was fearful that his life was going to change. Hurley is typically happy-go-lucky and keeps the spirits of his fellow survivors up. He has an eating disorder but has managed to overcome that with the help of Libby, and has even stuck to it after her death. He is also the voice of reason in the group, and uses his common sense to solve difficult situations. Ever since winning the lottery with the mysterious numbers, he has searched for an answer for the curse of bad luck that supposedly plagues him.

The Sub Ain't Sunk
At the start of the episode, when the voice says, "Previously, on Lost," they show the explosion from a different angle. The flash occurs at the end of the dock. The submarine is no longer moored along the left side of the dock.
Then, in the preview for next week, you see some of the Others standing atop a submarine's conning tower.
I think Locke submerged the sub and gave Ben a way out concerning Jack and Juliet's departure. He "outgamed" Ben by thinking up a way to remove the sub from play without destroying it like Ben obviously wanted him to do.
This makes me wonder if Locke's switching sides (joining the Others) might be another game strategy move. He "joins" to gather more information on the Others and to undermine them from within.
That would be very, very clever. Almost Ben-like, in fact.

But that tactic has been used before. Ana Lucia pretended to be a captive to find out who Sawyer, Jin, and Michael really were. Ben pretended to be Henry Gale. Same with Ethan.
I was just putting forth the idea of: If Locke is playing this like a war game, then one side sending in a fake "defector" is one form of scouting out the enemy's defenses (and a dangerous one, too). Plus, it would fit because the Others know that Locke has a tendancy to act as a rogue agent (Ben, at least, thinks that Locke can be turned).
And if I were Locke, every time Ben talked to me, I would think, "Once burned, twice shy."
Remember that Locke was devious enough to hide all that money from his father's lockbox in a different bag in case the drug guys followed him--which they did.

Interesting that you mention Ana-Lucia and Locke in the same post Charlie. When Ana-Lucia had herself thrown into the pit to do recon on Jin, Michael, and Sawyer, after she took Sawyer's gun she shouted, "Coming out!" at which point Mr. Eko lifted her out of the pit. John, after he was done talking to Kate in the game room, says the exact same thing "coming out!" when leaving the game room.

I wrote something in the same lines before I read that. do I get any points?
I watched season 2 disk 5 last night ha sorry. when Locke gets stuck/ crushed in the hatch with henry gale. Ben definetly resembled lockes father some how. There was this one part when locke was freaking out when he thought henry left him. he was about to cry the good ol' henry came back and gave him a hug, while he was just toying with his emotions. Ben knows lockes past and Locke is such a sucker.

You shoulda put that as a spoiler, I certainly do NOT want to have things given away in the preview.
