I don't think Michael was brainwashed at all. You have to remember that a father will do pretty much almost anything to save his son. Michael is not a bad person at heart, but he did make a decision to do something wrong in order to get his son out of this place. I mean it is the same idea as if you could only pull one person out of a deadly car accident and it was your son or a stranger, who would you pull out? Extreme measures cause parents especially to do whatever it takes to protect their children. Yes Michael didn't want 2 kill Libbie, but he went in there knowing he was going to sacrifice Ana Lucia in order to do whats best for Walt. As far as the where are Michael and Walt...that little boat could have sent them to the place where the sub is, which carried them off that island. I don't think they are coming back.

I don't think Michael was brain washed either. Especially not in the scary Rm 23. Cause as far as we know Michael was never taken to Hydra island. So unless they had a makeshift brainwashing room set up in their little straw hut village, then no I say he was not brainwashed.

And sorry people, but quit making excuses for poor Michael. He didn't have to kill anybody. With a little ingenuity he could have just gotten Ana to leave the hatch, then let Ben go and shoot himself.

Some might say well the others told him to kill Ana as payback for Goodwin. Sure I guess so, but why not just show them telling him to kill her, and if thats they way the roll why not also tell him to kill Charlie for revenge for Ethan. Nope Michael was and is a punk, he just keeps making bad choices and is not the sharpest tool in the shed. IMO

Yea michael was an idiot and he could have gone about things a differentw ay, but I don't think hes a bad person. I agree he just made rash, bad decisions. Basically Michael was out for himself and his son, which we can sort of connect to how Paolo and Nikki were out for themselves. However, Michael gets to get off the island, and Paolo and Nikki are buried alive. It really shows us the difference between characters like Kate and Jack who are trying to help everyone, and characters out for themselves.

Definitely not the same thing...I have kids, and of course if I could only pull one person out of a wreck, one of my kids or a stranger, I'd pull out my kid...that's a no-brainer. But this was not that situation...Walt was not facing sudden death. Michael could have figured a better way to let Ben escape without killing anyone.

^^ yea I completely agree, what I am saying is that was Michael's mindset the whole time. I must protect my son and forget everyone else. I'm not condoning his actions and he did have other choices, but I think that is the mindset he adopted in order to do what he had to do in the quickest way. He didn't bother thinking of another plan, because he really didn't care.

I agree that was his mindset, and that he thought of no one else but himself and Walt...but that is exactly why I think he is a bad person at heart. He's not getting any sympathy from me...
