Michael was a pouty, selfish mess in my opinion. Yes, he had some hard knocks, many of his own making. I will not agree that he acted as anyone would to get his son back. Soo Agreed.. Michael had other options, espically before killing 2 people in cold blood

Frog reminded of something Ben said - about finding out what a person cares about and exploiting it. That's exactly what he did with Michael, without even doing it directly!

Michael did not do what "most people would do." He was a selfish coward. That some people have no problem with killing innocent people explains why I see so many spoiled children crying and getting their own way at the local shopping center.

Absolutely... Totally Agreed!!

Hmm after reading the posts I have a few strains of thought. If he comes back Michael will probably die because his answer the island's question would most likely be: I did what I had to do. (ala Mr Eko.) and this answer will most likely cause ol' smokey to give Michael a thrashing. Walt's return will most likely have some sort of time warp excuse because I'm sure the actor is now bit bigger than when he left.

Didn't Michael and Walt leave the island in the "little" boat?

I seem to recall that when Michael and Sawyer were floating on what was left of the raft, Sawyer commented that the boat the kidnappers had was too small and wouldn't have the range to get very far from the island.

Did Ben send them off to die out on the ocean when their fuel ran out? Or is he expecting the ocean currents to bring them back (like they did the raft)?

Something to think about.

Oh, and I still think they brainwashed Michael into killing Anna Lucia. (Shooting Libby was accidental...Michael really looked horrified when he realized that he'd shot her). Michael didn't show any remorse when he shot Anna Lucia. It was just, "Sorry, I got to do this," bang!

They probably had him in that room they had Carl in.

That could explain a lot about his behavior at the end of Season Two.
