Johnathan "John" Locke
Johnathan "John" Locke is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. His paralysis was immediately healed upon crashing on the Island, which has ultimately led him to believe he has some sort of special connection to the Island. He is sometimes shown in antithesis to Benjamin Linus, sharing several traits including the ability to commune with Jacob. Seen as antithetical to Jack Shephard, he and Jack are philosophical opposites and used to share leadership among the survivors, but now seems to be creating his own agenda for his actions on the Island and has broken off from the survivors.

Second Power Source on the Island
When Locke switches on the lights, he comments to Ben, "You have electricity?"
I have been operating under the assumption that the Swan Station was generating all the power for the island and that was why Dharma had set up the fail-safe device to keep it running after "the incident."
Since the Swan Station is now destroyed, where's the Barracks electrical power coming from?
And the cool thing is, that it was almost a "throw-away" line. Ben answered with a joke. "There are two giant hamsters running on enormous metal wheels deep within the bowels of my secret underground lair."
So...another power source?
Is it listed in the Dharma Owners Manual that Sayidd found at the Flame Station?

Has anyone gone to the Pearl station since the Swan blew? Maybe all the hatches are on a separate source. The Flame had power because the light was on in the frig, and the computer was working, so my hatch theory doesn't work. The sonic fence (which we know has a keypad that I would think had to be powered) was "hot" when smokey came after Kate and Juliet. There had to be a power source for the Swan, and one for the Flame (which was outside the sonic fence and still had electricity after the swan explosion) and a power source for Otherville - because it still had power after both the Swan and the Flame were blown up. There must be at least three giant hamster wheels....

I am pretty sure that they can have all the generators in one area and run cable to the other hatches.. At least that is my understanding of how generators work.. There for the power transformer or panels at each hatch would have been destroyed but the main power source would still be intact.. I would guess that they would keep the generators in the most secure part of the island, maybe under the barracks or under the sonic fence...
