Rose Nadler
Rose Nadler (née Henderson) is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. She was on the plane with her husband Bernard, but was separated for 48 days following the crash. The Magic Box
In case any of you haven't checked out lostepedia about the magic box, there's a lot of REALLY good thoughts here :
Magic box/Theories - Lostpedia
The only other thought I can think of is that maybe the magic box is related somehow to Pandora's Box - that all it contains is evil. This might mean that what Locke desires will never turn out to be anything good for him, revenge on Anthony Cooper won't make him any happier. It may perhaps be this way only for the "flawed" ones who aren't on the list, that when they come into contact with the box they manifest something terrible, whereas the unflawed people truly get their desires. It also might mean that the box can only be used once by any single person, which would explain why Henry couldn't magic up another submarine.
Cindy and the kids certainly looked very happy, maybe they got their desires?

Pandora (păndôr'u) [key], in Greek mythology, first woman on earth. Zeus ordered Hephaestus to create her as vengeance upon man and his benefactor, Prometheus. The gods endowed her with every charm, together with curiosity and deceit. Zeus sent her as a wife to Epimetheus, Prometheus' simple brother, and gave her a box that he forbade her to open. Despite Prometheus' warnings, Epimetheus allowed her to open the box and let out all the evils that have since afflicted man. Hope alone remained inside the box
I found this today, I was thinking along the lines of Pandora's Box too

The argument, there is no box, makes more sense to me in terms of the actual episode. I was just thinking of Alex's talk with Locke, and how everybody thinks they are following their own ideas when it's really Ben's ideas. Maybe that is all ben can do now, manipulate people to cause the things to manifest, i.e. cooper. If there was a "box" Ben wouldn't of needed to goad Locke like he did, he simply could have wished cooper was there on the island, or get one of his lackeys to do it. For some reason I don't think the "island/box/whatever" is working for Ben anymore, otherwise he would be healthy.

I'm torn, but what i did notice, and the wiki makes mention of it, is that Locke looks around the room, for quite some time, before he 'sees' Anthony Cooper. Perhaps it was those few seconds that smokey formed, having read that Locke's closest harsh memories at that point were the old bastard conman.
The only other logical explanation is that locke is going through the same thing that we saw Desmond go through in Flashes Before Your Eyes. the Others know Locke, but he barely recognizes them, because he has done this before, and his anger ruined it somehow. This time Ben, who likes Locke, grabbed Cooper before coms went down and held him until that very time. Locke has basically made the decision to stay onthe island, and Ben is rewarding him for doing so.
you can't beat that with a bat!

SOURCE: Official Lost Podcast transcript/March 26 - Lostpedia
Damon Lindelof: I think that Ben quite clearly says, "let me put this into terms that *you* can understand, John," which in, in, in knowing that they have some sort of file on Locke, and they, they refer to having kn- kn- knowledge of the fact that he worked in a box company. Then maybe this is just, some sort of, uh, metpahor that Ben is using to explain, uh, whatever this box construct is on the island. Because I think it would be sort of silly to walk to the middle of the island and there was like, kind of a big large refrigerator box sitting there, and Kate's horse comes tromping out, and Sayid's little cat, and Jack's Dad, and you know, I don't know, that would kind of be the worst idea in the history of ideas.
Carlton Cuse: Yeah, besides, the best box idea was done in that show Prophet, where there was the naked guy sleeping in the box.
