Has Jack seen the "undescribable"?

When Jack and Kate were conversing in the bugged room, Kate asks Jack "what happened to you?" to which Jack responds " you wouldn't... you cant.." or something to that effect. Do you think Jack now knows what Mikhail couldn't describe to Kate because she was flawed? Thoughts anyone?

Yea I noticed that too... I'm not sure if it was because he didn't want to tell her he made a deal with the others and was leaving her... but the other part of me wonders if he "understands" what the others are about....

I think he was struggling to find the words to explain it, because he'd seen something SO incredible that it kinda makes everything make sense ... something like "the box" ..

Okay, well I maybe way off here...but....
Kate was asking Jack what "they" had said to him. I thought maybe she was worried that they told Jack about her and Sawyer. That they had used that hurtful truth to get him to choose to stay with them.
I think Jack wanted to tell her that he had seen her and Sawyer doing the wild thing. That was a crucial turning point for Jack and caused the chain of events that followed. It was that realization that made him feel like he had to get off the island no matter what. It was the moment when he made the decision to cut the deal and leave. He did not want to return to the beach with Sawyer and Kate so he would be constantly reminded that he was once again rejected for another man.

Yup Kate was definitely fishing to see if Jack knew about her and Sawyer's cage lust. And Jack would have trouble dealing with rejection again. That's why back in that episode where he saw them in the cage he told Ben "I need to get off this island"

I don't think Ben shared any big secrets with him, but Juliet might have and maybe Tom too. They seem awful chummy.....

I really think Kate was more interested in like why he was playing American Football with the Others?? I think something like her time with Sawyer was at the back of her mind.

Jack's answer reminded me of Cindy's answer when she said it was complicated and so forth.

That's what I think too, Queenie. Ben already pulled a trick out of the box for Locke, who blew up a sub. Imagine what he showed Jack who saved his life. (And was leaving on a sub, that I think would have been the death of Jackie and Julie, keeping the secret safe)

I remember thinking something along these lines while I watched it... I thought Kate was asking what they told him was about the hot cage scene... It was the look on her face when Jack said that Kate told him to trust the others when she asked him to do the surgry so that they would not kill Sawyer..

I agree with Frogmeister. Kate was trying to find out if the Others told Jack about her and Sawyer, I was waiting for Jack to say "I saw you, Kate". Despite what he knows, Jack still whispers that he will come back for her, ahhh. So sweet.
