Johnathan "John" Locke

Johnathan "John" Locke is one of the middle section survivors of Oceanic Flight 815. His paralysis was immediately healed upon crashing on the Island, which has ultimately led him to believe he has some sort of special connection to the Island. He is sometimes shown in antithesis to Benjamin Linus, sharing several traits including the ability to commune with Jacob. Seen as antithetical to Jack Shephard, he and Jack are philosophical opposites and used to share leadership among the survivors, but now seems to be creating his own agenda for his actions on the Island and has broken off from the survivors.

I've watched it three times, that part more. In my opinion, he is WET. Sloppin' wet, not sweaty.

Maybe it was a "Hunt for Red October" kind of thing where he made them believe he skuttled the ship, but really the sub is alright on the bottom of the cove and Locke detonated the C4 under water, but away from where he"parked" the sub. Aren't there sometimes hatches (wasn't it reminisceint of season 2 opener looking down the hatch) have an airlock thingy (i'm very scientific) where you can exit a sub while it's submerged? This is not the Hunley, Ben said it was complicated.

I personally think this thread is completely wrong. If Locke had really moved the submarine, they'd find it again in no time. It makes it very clear he blew up the sub.

Ok I watched it again. Yup he is soaking wet.
I think he set the C4.
Powered up the sub, started it moving
then jumped off and swam back to shore.

I like this Hunt for Red October comparison; very nice reference, queenbeesteph. I think part of me just wishes Locke somehow found a way to keep the sub intact. I like the idea of Locke getting one up on the Others. I'm probably wrong, and the sub is toast, but damn, Locke would be the man if it turns out the sub is still around...

Lock was wet. I didnt need to rewatch it. I actually just commented on the last thread about this and here is the topic on it.

he is soaked. He had the backpack with him right? well maybe he hid something in the bag under the dock. he definitely got into the water.

one person couldnt send the sub off and think he could sucessfully retrieve it. if it were sitting on the bottom of the water, then it would not be possible to get into it without flooding it.

i would love to be proven wrong here... but i am thnking the sub is gone and locke is calling the henrys bluff.

How can you fake blowing something up? Unless you have something else in very close proximity to it,and blow it up instead.

Why was he wet? Probably slipped and fell in the water :P I think people are looking too far into this 'wet' thing, I agree he was wet but I don't think it's anything significant.
